No sun today but the snow and ice are still clinging to every twig, branch and stalk. Today was foggy and dreary but we could still see beauty all around. Ruth, Diane and I walked doing a good 2 and a half rounds before quitting. The horses all still have enough hay and the waterers are all working. It is cold but not bitter cold so we have nothing to complain about. A booking came in for the apartment last night and another came in this afternoon. Crazy how even in January people are traveling. I went to Kroger to pick up sugar pea pods, cabbage, broccoli, and some other vegetables for the meal today. That was stir fried with one chicken breast, a piece of Polish sausage and 4 shrimp. I don't care for the shrimp but Mark likes that in this dish. A teriyaki sauce plus a little soy sauce was added and the meal was delicious. I had a craving for fresh vegetables and this hit the spot. We got to actually go to church tonight. The Wednesday night service has been via Facebook since everything was closed down in March. Restrictions are lifting and we really enjoyed being there in person. Ron Streitmatter had the lesson on Joseph and his brothers. A couple of nice reviews came in for the apartment from the last 2 renters. This is the one from the lady that stayed over Christmas: Judy is always a great host. She is very quick to reply to questions when we have them. The value and location are unbeatable which is why we're repeat customers. Thanks for having the space available for us again. I hope you had a great vacation. The the next one is the people that came in during the ice storm: This is an awesome and charming apartment! Judy thought of everything and keeps the place super clean. We loved all the small touches, and the horses were so friendly. And Judy and her family were so helpful. When we couldn’t get out due to an unexpected ice storm, they brought out the tractor and cleared the ice for ice. We will be back! Thank you so much for everything! The place is lovely, and you have thought of everything we might need. And the cookies blew the kids away! We loved it. Anna and Phil were the rescuers as we were still in Gulf Shores. I was SO thankful they were willing to stay home, care for Emma AND the apartment.
