We were up at 3:15 am, picked up Nancy at 3:50 am and were on our way home by 4:00 am. We only stopped twice for gas and had 2 other stops for meals. Nancy travels great. The trees started to sparkle in their ice coating around Springfield, IL and with each mile they became more and more white. By the time we reached Morton, IL we were marveling at the beauty and we are talking IN THE DARK as the car headlights hit them. Hopefully tomorrow we will have sunshine early and I can get a few pictures. Each tree is incredibly beautiful. Rebekah posted this video: Each old brown weed sticking up now has a glitter of silver ice covered with gorgeous white snow with glistening hoar frost topping that. Below are a couple pictures from others in the family.

Driving Into a Fairyland
Dan posted the one above and Taunya posted the one below.
David and Stephanie and Nolan and Sarah took their kids sledding. All enjoyed that but Eden. She enjoyed the hot tub after though. Just think 48 hours ago all of these kids were building sand castles on a beach in Florida.
We got Nancy home at 6:10 pm, a few minutes earlier than we had estimated but the driving was easy all the way home. Emma was really glad to see us but when I gave her the gift of the prime rib bone we saved from the Christmas dinner at Beth's she was so thrilled she dropped to the floor and started gnawing away. The girls organized this house so well that I think we should move out and airbnb it. They put up one of those really cool shower heads that is held by a magnet, put up shelves in the dining area for all the paper goods for our dinners, shelves in the laundry area to hold all the cleaning supplies and foaling towels, cleaned out all of our kitchen cabinets and drawers organizing everything, moved all the good china upstairs as that hasn't been used in years and put all the tupperware containers in that cupboard, put a shelf up above the deep freeze for the microwave, cleaned out the little fridge and disposed of that (not sure if they gave it away or threw it away) then moved the apartment fridge, the nice big one with the freezer on the bottom in it's place. We now have plenty of room for food but no food. I will have to shop tomorrow. I'm sure there is more we haven't even discovered yet but we are both exhausted from our short night and long drive so are heading to bed and will do more exploring in the morning. Thankful we are home safe.
