We kept the wood burner burning all night. Not only does the fire heat the house it is so satisfying to watch.
Mark and I worked together this morning bringing in 6 loads of wood for the wood burners. We don't need them today but will starting tonight. A cold spell is coming with single digits. Oh well it IS January. Mom had a good night, waking at 6:00 am but falling right back to sleep. When I arrived at 7:15 am she was still sound asleep. I left for the post office early as yesterday was a mail holiday. The Berean mail needed to be picked up early and one never knows how long the line will be at that Peoria post office. Today there wasn't much of a line. I got to the Berean office early enough that I could shovel a path through the snow from the door to the parking lot. We had a VERY busy day at the Berean office. If you would like to read about our morning there click HERE. Next Tuesday morning we will need volunteers IF the new envelopes arrive. I had a few pictures come today. The first picture is of Morgana and Sterling at their new home.
The owner said they are growing by leaps and bounds. He said they come into the barn and wait for him to get home from work. They look for him each morning. The next picture is of Missy. We would not breed Missy for a couple reasons. The first reason was she was a wonderful riding horse and we didn't want to give up using her and the other reason was she is just not very pretty. Below is a picture of Missy and this is one of the better pictures not showing really how big her head is. She loved the other mare's foals and would hang around them each year. We finally decided to let her have her own. The owner of her filly posted pictures today. This pretty filly that has become a beautiful mare. So I guess we were wrong to think of Missy as not very pretty. Her baby is BEAUTIFUL.
