Another Super Sunday

It was very cold outside this morning with 3 degrees. The blessing was no wind.  Before breakfast the hamburger was browned and drained of the grease which was put in a bowl and out on the porch to harden into a lovely beef tallow, then the meat put in a crock pot with the taco seasoning for the meal tonight. Our milk was sour this morning so pancakes were made for breakfast with that. The extra pancakes packaged up and frozen for later. Once the dishes were done and the kitchen cleaned up it was time to get ready for church. On the way in to church we marveled at the beauty. We had fog last night and this morning the sun was out shining brightly on the hoar frost coated branches. Each glistening like a million diamonds.  The pictures below were taken but neither of them doesn't come close to showing the true beauty.

We had an amazing day in Church. Tim Roecker had the morning message on Genesis 2 and 3 then Dave Obergfel on the healing on the Sabbath of the bent over woman. Both meshed together and both thought provoking. After church the grandchildren came for sledding before supper. No pictures as I had work to do. The beef tallow was brought inside. It had hardened nicely and easily came away from the liquid. Now this tallow was not going to be used for cooking but for fire starters as it hadn't been strained. If strained it can be saved and used many ways such as seasoning a pan, cooking,  soap, candles, as a healing salve and skin balm as well as a lubricant for wood, leather and metal working.    It works amazing as a fire started. This tallow was cut and broken into smaller pieces to be used for our wood burners.

I had some paper towels that had just been used for drying a few dishes and left out to dry themselves. Those were used to wrap a small piece of the tallow up.
Napkins can be used or nothing at all if the tallow will be stored outside in the cold. Today I just wrapped a few. Mark had already started a fire but to show him how nice they work I put one in the fireplace. It burns hot, long and easily starts your fire up and if added once the fire is going quickly heats up the wood burner.
The rest of the tallow was put loose in a grocery bag and hung outside. It even works well frozen. At 4:30 pm the kids all arrived for dinner. Sarah, River, Rhoda, Iris and Lee didn't make it tonight. Rhoda is due in 5 days and River needed a nap. We still had a full house. Below Braelyn, Taegan and Kensley are helping cut up the avocados for the meal.
The youngest 4 that were here were playing nicely in the rec room.
Below the girls are getting ready to eat.
We all fit tonight in the same room.
After dinner Nolan, Ben, Phil and Anna left for volley ball. The tables were cleared and the crafts brought out and for the next few hours they were very busy creating.

Rachel posted a picture of her very first grandchild. Caleb and Emily are the proud parents of their beautiful son Brian Joseph Anthony Sauder.  He was 7 pounds 7 ounces and 21 inches long born January 13th, 2022 at 11:10pm.
Rebekah brought her new son born Dec 27th, 2021 over to meet his great grandma Rhoda. This was such a boost for mom. She was not feeling well enough to go to church today so this was perfect.
The next great grandson due is Rhoda and Lee's baby and he is due in 5 days! It really was another super Sunday.
