UPs and Downs

I left for mom's at 7:20 am. Joan reported mom had a good night sleeping until 6:00 am but transfers were not easy.  While she was brushing her teeth I took her bun out, wet the brush, and started brushing her hair. The bun had made her hair very curly even wet. I thought she looked beautiful with that white wave.

We had a quiet morning. Right after breakfast she fell asleep. Lunch was just part of a bowl of chicken soup. She wasn't hungry so didn't finish the bowl. After lunch Molly jumped up to take a nap on mom's lap.

About 2:30 pm (after Karin came home)  We asked her if she would be willing to try to walk and we were all pleased when she was able and got around 10 feet of walking in, one step at a time.  At 3:00 pm she was back in her recliner when her leg muscle went into a spasm. That caused extreme pain and we tried a few different things to help. Thankfully rubbing oil on it she was able to relax. We had some ups and some downs today. Joan came just before 5:00 so I took the golf cart home to start supper for Mark and I. We just had left overs but they were still delicious. The house was cold so both woodburners were starting and both are burning brightly right now.  We have another cold spell coming, tomorrow morning the thermometer should be reading a whopping 4 degrees.  The picture below was sent by Lee, the proud papa of Zeke. He took the picture last night and wrote, he and Zeke are watching his first football game.. Me thinks Lee was watching and Zeke was napping, although it looks like he is having sweet dreams.
