Thankful For Heat

The wind was ferocious this morning, slamming into the house and whisking away our heat.  I had both wood burners going all day and was only able to get the temp up to 71 degrees.  The soup bones from last night were worked on this morning, draining the broth into another pan while removing all the meat from the bones, throwing those away and then starting the soup. I took a half of gallon of the soup over to mom's for lunch.  Ruth was working in the wheel chair brake. It hasn't been holding so she figured out how to fix it and between the two of us got it fixed.

Mom did not have a good day, she is having groin pain which Ruth thinks is from muscle spasms and because of that needs to recline quickly when it happens.  She isn't able to stand more than a few seconds which makes transfers hard. The nurse is coming tomorrow and we will ask if we can rent a standing lift. to help with transfers. Ruth stayed pretty much all day.  Mark and I left at 5:30 pm to head to church for family night. Mike and Rosie along with an absent Tim and Diane (who are in quarantine) provided the dinner for about 60 people. David had the family night message on becoming more like Jesus and beholding Him in the Bible. He had us break into groups giving each group a fruit of the Spirit and at the end had Justin put on all 9.
He got the message across well. We had a cold trip home. The temperature is just above single digits hovering around 10 degrees but the wind is making it feel below zero. As soon as we got in we loaded up both wood burners again and will keep them going tonight. I am very thankful for the heat they produce.
