This Sunday wasn't quite the day of rest as I did not prepare much yesterday. We were too busy at Middle Grove then when I got home wanted to download and get the pictures up. I got 8 pounds of potatoes peeled and the cake baked before leaving for church. We had a very nice day in church. Mike Kaisner had the morning message on First Kings chapter 9. Click HERE to watch that. Tim Roecker had the afternoon message on Acts 17 and explained the history of the alters in Athens set up to worship the unknown God. That was VERY interesting as I had never heard this history before. Click HERE to listen to that. We left pretty quickly after church was over as I needed to get the pork loin in the oven and that needed at least 2 hours to cook. The meal turned out just about perfect.

What A Catch
I was very happy with how the cake turned out. There was none left of that so may try this home made recipe for Berean in a couple weeks. For next week we have an apple pie so I don't need to bring anything. Anna and Philip installed the new blinds on those big bullet proof windows in the barn. Phil pulled them both down then closed one and left the other open. These blinds go up very easy so mostly will be left up but today we have a big Halo competition going on so thought they may want them down tonight.
After supper we all headed to the playground. Volley ball was very well attended and the little kids went swimming. The golf cart was in big demand. By 7:00 pm all the games and swimming were over. Sarah and Nolan put up a tent for tonight and the kids had fun building a camp fire. I brought out a bag of fire starters and they all wanted one to help.
Of course with a fire we must have marshmallows and if we have those we may as well bring over chocolate bars and graham crackers for s'mores.
Those are always a special fall treat. The kids took more golf cart rides and needed to use the lights on it as it was getting dark. They came back pretty excited as they saw a skunk, a real live skunk. We were just glad they left it alone and didn't get sprayed.
They had a lot of fun making piles of kids in the light of the fire.
David Jacob is down at Gulf Shores and had an amazing day fishing. He pulled in a shark.
If you watch the entire video, at the end he gave his pole to Jake and jumped in the water to pull the shark in by the tail.
What a catch.
