Rizzy found something really nasty to roll in during our walk this morning. Rhoda had her looking so great after her grooming and we were shocked at how dirty she was.
It turned out not to be tar which was what I was afraid of, I think she found some half burned wood as it wasn't too hard to wash off. Right after we had breakfast we went to work. Mark scrubbed the barn floor with the floor scrubber.
After getting the floor cleaned we brought in extra tables and chairs. The game room was cleaned along with the bathrooms and by noon we were ready to quit. Joan was supposed to leave at 10:00 am with the motorhome but the road workers had dug a trench in front of the drive so no one could get in or out for 2 hours. She was finally able to leave for family camp at noon. Mark needed to move a load of gravel in for the automatic waterer in the middle paddock so the horses were turned out into the pond pasture. Madiera's colt is developing well. I really need to get new pictures and a video of him. He is going to have tons of hair and has really nice movement.
Jewel led the group over the dam to start grazing.
It took just one scoop of gravel to shore up that waterer.
That scoop did the job.
Our next job was to take the canoe out of the stock trailer, load it on the top of the golf cart and drive it over to mom's house.
Rizzy had to check out the new canoe.
Rachel H showed up to set up the barn for the Waibel reunion. She bought table cloths and made the room charming.
Mark and I went back after supper, we worked on windows. Mark washed the garage windows both inside and out while I worked on the windows in the living area. This evening we watched some of the debate but soon lost interested. We are both tired from the labor today.
