After the Storm

We had an inch and a half of rain in the rain gauge this morning  I brought the rain gauge in for the picture.

When I went up to check the horses saw that the big Meister Electric trailer was opened and had to look inside. That trailer is huge.

It is big enough for cars.
We also had a LOT of downed limbs to clean up. We are so thankful for this rain, that 1/2 inch during the day yesterday with the rain last night was exactly what the fields here needed. Mark said Spark was out working early on moving downed limbs so he could get to work today and when we walked we saw exactly what was the problem. The limb below was across the drive.

On the way back from Rachel's house I had to take a picture of Karin's car.
It was fine, the limb fell far enough away from the car there was no damage. We stopped at mom's and went in to visit. About then 2 of the county road workers drove up and knocked on mom's door to tell us they were going to be tearing out our side of Hanna City Glasford Rd and laying down blacktop this morning and no one in the neighborhood would be able to go in or out. Diane was needed at the Freedom house so she left quickly to get ready to leave for that. Ruth was coming to stay with mom so she quickly ran home to get back in time so Karin could leave early.  I needed to run to the bank to deposit a check. We were glad for the warning. Mark and Mackenson went right to work cutting up and clearing the branches.

I have guests coming in tomorrow for the barn and the apartment so worked at both of those places. Berlica and Mackenson were able to mow today once it dried up a bit.

At 3:00 pm I left to pick up the canoe at Amy's house. Their neighbor was giving it away so Amy and Ken picked it up for us. Of course I had to check out her minis before leaving. Mocha is the dark mini and she is the mother of the paint. Mocha is 29 years old.
She had shaved both of them and each had hearts on their rumps.
Below is a close up of the heart.
I left there before 5:00 pm so I could get home in time to get ready for church. On the way home realized the road crew had not reached our house today. That means tomorrow we will be facing the same problem of no leaving OR getting in. Hopefully they get ours done in the morning, as our guests arrive in the afternoon.  Just as I was pulling forward with the truck and trailer Berlica came flying around the corner on the mower. We both hit the brakes and at the same time went whew and put our right hand over our hearts. That was a close call.
The trailer was backed into position and then left. We will need to get the canoe out tomorrow. Below is the canoe. It needs cleaning up but there are no leaks and it came with a couple paddles.
Of course I had to check out Berlica's work before heading down to the house. The outdoor arena looks like a yard. Amazing how mowing makes everything look neat and tidy.
We left for church by 6:10 pm. David and Stephanie's family got home from Mexico yesterday and David had the message tonight. Click HERE if you would like to see that. Actually you WILL want to watch it, He really is a gifted teacher. After church we went to Culvers for a late dinner. Nancy S, David and Stephanie, Israel and his friend Grayson joined us. Elisabet was having an overnight with cousins.
