4 Greats

On our walk today I mentioned I needed an 8 foot step ladder to fix the light in the barn game room. Diane graciously lent hers. She is very protective of her ladder and after using it I agree, that is a nice ladder. As a joke we started carrying it back from her garage to the barn.

Really 2 of us were not needed, it really is light enough that I carried it upstairs by myself. After the walk and after breakfast Mark and I went right to work. We had never put the volley ball net up and the group coming in today wanted that. We learned how and it didn't even take us more than an hour.
Our first try we had the poles in the wrong holes. The second try we had the top way to short and by the time we tightened the net it was only 6 feet high and needed to be 7 feet 6 inches. The 3rd try we got it right. Hopefully we can remember for the next time. The next job was to repair the light in the game room.

Mark took the ladder back to Diane's.
I still needed to clean the 3 bathrooms and mop the kitchen floor and finished everything in the barn, then checked the apartment. The air had been turned off and it was 82 degrees in there. Thankfully that air conditioner cools it down quickly. By 12:45 pm everything was done to my satisfaction. Right after I got back to the house the airbnb guests arrived for both the barn and the apartment. After resting a bit it was back to work getting the dishes and laundry done in this house. Rhoda arrived at 4:30 pm to take us out for dinner at Scapecci's in Farmington. She took the picture below.
This was her gift for Mark for Father's day and I just got to come along for the ride and the meal. Scapecci's has a special on Thursdays of a nice size ribeye with 2 sides for around $14.00. Rhoda and I ordered ours with a sweet potato a salad and Mark got his with a salad and fries.
The meal was delicious. I ordered mine medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. After supper we stopped in at mom's. Sarah was there, she had Mike dig another grave and today had to put her dog Kabur down. He had a stroke, could hardly walk and was not eating. That is 3 graves in 2 days, it has been a hard couple of days around here.
Sarah showed us pictures of Kabur, she got him as a puppy for her 18th birthday.
He was flown to Haiti and lived there for 7 years improving the bloodlines of the dogs of Haiti siring lots of puppies.
Below they are at the vet clinic waiting. He really was a good dog.
Rhoda talked to grandma about Molly and mom could sympathize with Sarah tonight.
There was good that happened though. Harvey (Anni and Matt's baby boy) came home from the hospital (he was born on Tuesday) and is doing well.
Chelise (Hannah and Jacob's baby girl born June 8th) came to visit great grandma.
Micah (Rebekah and Brian's baby boy) is doing wonderful.
And Joey (Caleb and Emily's baby boy) has the biggest smile.
At this point there is NO one in the Meister family expecting. (that we know of).
