Tim's Talk

Brrr it was cold this morning and didn't warm up all day. The thermometer read 33 degrees this morning with a brisk wind.  Soul was put out early and the horses fed before leaving for our walk. Diane is still in warm sunny Gulf Shores so just Joan, Ruth and I walked.  After the walk I left for TSC to pick up 40 pounds of black oil sunflower seeds for mom's house, two 50 pound salt blocks and 250 pound of grain for here. The salt and grain were unloaded before heading over to mom's to dump the sunflower seeds in her bin.  Every morning the bird feeder gets filled and they were just about out. On Sunday when David and Stephanie were loading up to leave I snapped the picture below of Israel petting Irish then forgot it was on my phone until today.

My next job was to tease Skye. She is still in and covered by Evan. It was so cold my hands were pretty frozen by the time she was put back. It is too hard to wear gloves when handling the stallions for breeding and usually all the breedings are done in the spring or summer.  By this time it was 38 degrees and the wind was even worse than this morning.  Mark hired Braelyn, Taegan and Kensley to come help with cleaning up some of the construction debris. Notice they are all wearing winter coats.

They brought some of those pieces of lumber in so I could get the wood burner going.
This evening Soul was brought back inside. She is still not waxing and is in no hurry to have this foal. Sunday she seemed uncomfortable but today she was anxious to get out and graze and just now bringing her in came from the bottom of the field when I called. Even Soul was glad to get back inside.  We are sure ready for some nicer weather.

My nephew Tim Sceggel has a brand new job and will be moving to Texas.
LeTourneau University (LETU) President Dr. Steven D. Mason announced the selection of Dr. Tim Sceggel, current Athletics Director at Covenant College, as LETU Vice President and Director of Athletics Monday.
Three months ago, Jan 22nd, 2022 Tim gave a 15 minute talk at the Convenant College Chapel called Do You Know My God. If you would like to listen to it just click on the title.
