Easter Sunday 2022

We had a cold start to Easter Sunday as the thermometer was hovering right at 32 degrees.  Mark and I started the day at 4:00 am so we could have everything done and on the road by 7:00 am.  Soul almost made me late. I put her out and cleaned her stall but then went back out to watch her and she just didn't seem like she felt well. She, Irish and Cookier were put out in the pond pasture to see if she would graze, she nibbled a little but didn't really dive into the grass like the other two.  I thought maybe she was in the first stage of labor even though there is still no waxing on her udder.  We made it to the fellowship hall with about 5 minutes to spare. That early morning breakfast was good but the service following was even more touching. Below are just a few of the songs sung. Pat Knobloch sang first. I videod that but with Lori's phone.  I used my phone for the Reinhards.

Their were some other numbers with the piano then came the choir.

After the choir sat down Steve Leuthold had the message. He spoke truth. I wish that had been recorded but haven't found it yet on AC central.  It will be posted here if it was recorded.  We were a little late to church as Mark helped put away the chairs. Dave Obergfel had the Easter message at church.  After church I checked on Soul. She was still very low key. She was moved into a pasture by herself.   At 3:00 pm the kids and grandkids started to arrive for the Easter Egg hunt. Below the 12 older grands are all lined up ready to hunt. The 2 babies, Zeke and River didn't get to join in on this activity, they are just too young.
The had so much fun finding these treasures.

Dinner was at 4:30 pm and tonight we feasted on steak, garlic potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, onions, salad, rolls and for desert birthday cake.
Above is the little kids table and below is another table set up for the older grandchildren.
The adult table was in the middle but we were two places short. Rhoda and Lee had to sit on the rockers and hold their plates. I really really need that barn to get finished. We are so crowded in this little house for meals now that there are 26 of us. After dinner we celebrated River, Abe and Addyson's birthday. River turned 1, Abe turned 5 and Addyson is now 13 years old.
The big kids went out to play in the barn after the party while the little ones did crafts until it started raining and became too cold to stay out.

Below is a video of some of the activities.
As it was raining and very cold Soul was brought into the indoor arena. She isn't happy in a stall but I just don't want her giving birth outside. I don't have any camera's in the indoor so will need to check on her early in the morning.  I'm not sure if she is just uncomfortable being so heavy in foal or the first stage of labor.  Hopefully all will be fine by morning. This Easter Sunday has been awesome and I am thankful. Now we are more than ready for bed.
