SUNSHINE

 We had a cold day but that didn't matter, because we saw the sun! What a difference that makes. Just Diane and I walked this morning and it was cold.  After the walk I headed over to mom's. She was awake and ready for breakfast.  After lunch it was warm enough on the deck to sit outside in the sunshine.

Ruth arrived and since it was nice decided to give mom a driving lesson on the scooter and have her drive over to the barn to see Irish's 2 day old colt. Below is that driving lesson.

The colt was so cute, he came right up to the gate and let Aunt Jinnie pet him.

Dancer, Rocky and Sally were put out in the field to get them out of the mud and also give them some grass. They settled down to graze.

But soon took off running.

At least the 2 young ones ran. Sally dropped down for a good roll and Rocky tried jumping her.

Nice form for a yearling. He didn't actually jump Sally, if she would have rolled over he would have but instead came down far enough away from her no one got hurt. Mark got home and helped move a new bale in for Valiant.

Irish and her colt were put out in the big field. I took a few pictures for the website.

I sat down in the grass to watch, he was so curious he and Irish came close to check me out.

He really is beautiful.

He wanted to nurse but Irish kept walking while grazing. He had a little temper tantrum. The video camera was turned on but I didn't get the entire tantrum.

I saw Mark go by with the truck and trailer on his way to Ruth and Fedi's house. You can see him in the background of the video above but I also snapped a picture.

Phil and Anna were working on the barn.

Spark had a bunch of grand children over and he took mom's Kubota over as they were helping him with a big project.

LoneWolf showed up to give us an estimate on pouring the concrete floor of the barn.

They said they are two months out from being able to pour. I'm praying somehow some way they can get it done in a month. I left Irish and her colt in the field and headed over to Phil and Anna's to pick up the girls and take them over to help unload the trailer. 

Those girls went right to work and in 14 minutes had the entire trailer unloaded.

Below they are waiting for grandpa to bring the broom to clean off the trailer.

Of course they had to pose showing all of their hard work.

They were taken home and by the time I got home Irish and her colt had left the big field and had come up to the circle drive. I took the picture below and will keep it as it shows his markings better on his back legs for the registry.  

They were put in the indoor arena for the night. Tomorrow rain moves back in and we sure don't want him getting wet and muddy, although that will come soon enough. 

This evening I joined Diane and Karin at mom's house for games. It was a very productive day.
