I was up by 5:00 am and by 6:00 am cleaning the foaling barn, finishing that checking the foaling apartment, turning the air and lights on and was at the big barn by 6:30 am to start cleaning that to get ready for our guests coming in today. I quit at 7:30 am so I could join the walkers but in that hour got a lot done. Right after the walk we stopped in to visit with mom. She was just getting ready to walk to the table for her breakfast.
I left to make breakfast for Mark then took off for Sam's Club arriving there by 9:00 am. I needed kitchen size garbage bags, 55 gal size garbage bags, bleach, dishwashing liquid, plastic knives, all for the barn then also picked up a watermelon, grapes, avocados and a few other items for our Sunday meal spending almost $200.00 but making it home by 10:30 am. I was able to finish the barn by noon and the guests were told they could come early if desired. Mark needed to move more sand and gravel in the middle paddock to shore up the automatic waterer and that meant I needed to open and shut gates so the horses wouldn't run out while he was doing that. Below he is moving a tank to get to the gravel underneath it.The picture below is after the first load of gravel. Sally had to come check it out.
Below Mark is not signing that He is NUMBER ONE, he is telling me he wants to do one more load.
Below is after he finished dumping the gravel. It still needs to be packed down.
Titus and Blueberry were curious also what he was doing and were hanging over the gate watching.
As long as he had the skid steer out Mark wanted to add more gravel to where he put in the larger culvert. That is a hard corner to turn if pulling a trailer and this will make it easier.
The skid steer was put away and the tractor brought out with a bale of hay for Titus, Blueberry and Mika.
Some of the guests arrived just then but had to wait to get into the apartment until Mark finished putting in the bale. The guests are all here for a wedding and were busy putting signs up for the other guests coming tomorrow for the big day.
They put one at each corner and two out by the main road.
We quit working at 4:30 pm and came in to clean up for our big date tonight. We left at 5:00 pm drove to Morton and ate supper at Culvers then from there drove to the Crossroads to watch and listen to the Latter Reign band play and sing. We arrived there at 6:30 pm and visited with people for a while. The singing started at 7:00 pm and finished at 8:30. Below is a picture of the band.
Below is the video of the evening.
We had that long ride home. Mark is already in bed and I will follow as soon as this is published.
