We got an inch and a quarter of rain yesterday and last night. Perfect timing to give the fields a good drink. We had sunshine for most of today. Before the walk Madiera was teased and she is in and ready to be covered. She was put in the breeding shed paddock but her colt, who was supposed to have been following her ran back to be with Missy and Cookie or as the walker say, "his aunts". After the walk he was finally ready to go in with his mom. Mike was sent a text to see if he could help with the cover. We used Evan for Madiera. Evan was put in his pasture and the back gate opened so he could go in the shelter if he wanted. Next Mike needed to move a bale in for the cabin horses so I took the golf cart over to open the gates and keep the horses from running out. They were busy grazing and not interested in the open gate.
Below is a video of Mike putting the bale in and taking the old bale out.
Next Mark helped me get two bales in the middle paddock. No pictures I was too busy to think about taking any. I left then to take Joan to Riekers to pick up the motorhome. They replaced the bushing on that. Joan is taking the motorhome on a big trip out West next week. When I got back Mark was on his new to him mower.
This is another grass hopper. His main mower the big grass hopper had to go in for repairs so Mark bought this smaller one to replace the old Huskavarna which died earlier this year. This afternoon I made 120 servings of party potatoes for the family night supper tonight. The car was packed with paper plates, plastic ware the table cloths for the picnic tables, and my big cutco knife to cut the watermelon. At 4:00 pm we loaded the desserts and the rest of the food. When we first got there the weather looked ok so we moved the serving tables out but soon the rain started up so when David, Israel and Elisabet arrived we moved them back inside and set up tables to eat inside. Below Joan is putting out the water bottles while Patty looks on.
Diane is always the salad maker and went right to work making 2 huge salads.
We had a very good turn out for this family night. I ordered 144 pieces of chicken and after everyone ate there were about 15 pieces left.
We had WAY to many desserts but that kind of made the meal for the kids. Gail made two rhubarb pies, Joan made a huge pan of scotcheroos plus brought left over donuts from Sunday lunch. The key lime pies went over well.
Spark had the message and told us many jail stories along with other amazing stories about the Holy Spirit working in his life.

HERE. We got home in time to clean up the dishes, put away left overs and then realized I had left my Cutco knife. I'm not willing to lose that as it is used quite often so will send a text to Carol. Now head to bed before 10:00 pm. Thankful for another wonderful day.
