An Easy Day

Both Ruth and I arrived with our purses for the walk this morning. Not that we needed a purse on the walk, those were left on the golf cart but right after the walk Ruth, mom and I left for the Berean office. It was predicted to rain so we stopped to grab an umbrella from our house. The rain started right after we were safe inside the building. We had a good group of volunteers and all of us kept busy until the break. It was good to have Marvin back from vacation. He gave us an update on the advanced study.

Skip was busy making 250 copies of the 1-4 of the studies. He sent those to two different prisons in Texas.

The studies and Bibles going out today were put in the white tub on the table.
On the way home we stopped at the Hanna City post office to drop off that. It was raining all the way home and kept raining all day. We are getting the remnants of hurricane Beryl. It is a nice soft rain and every drop is soaking into the fields nicely. The rain is supposed to keep going most of the night and again tomorrow.  Mark and I went to Aldi to pick up some cans of both blueberry and strawberry pie filling. When we got home I started on the pies making the blueberry first. When I opened the strawberry cans I was shocked at how awful that looked. I expected to find nice red strawberries but canning them seemed to turn them all brown. I made the 2 pies but had to add ingredients and cover it completely with cool whip to make those look semi ok. Not sure if they should even be served tomorrow. I had one extra crust so made an apple pie with a crumb topping too. All of the pies were taken to the apartment fridge. Mark wanted fish for dinner tonight and that was served with some fried potatoes and a salad then he had a slice of key lime pie for dessert that was left over from Bereans. As it is still raining no outside work got done today. Kind of nice to have an easy day.
