Another beautiful but cool morning and another sunrise with no clouds.
Joan cooked an egg casserole for our breakfast this morning which was served with applesauce. Mom had the prayer and I confess to chuckling quietly listening to her. After thanking God for the food she said, "Thank you for these children that they can be home schooled and even though they are learning so much most of what they are learning will never get used." I wasn't the only one chuckling, Joan's reaction was, "Way to undermine me mom." After breakfast we were getting the dishes cleaned up when the fire alarm went off. Joan went running down 10 flights of stairs to check out if there really was a fire. The elevator had been shut down so there was no way to get mom down the 10 flights. Instead we went out on the balcony to wait for a helicopter to come rescue us.
The fire engines arrived so Joan went to talk to the firemen to see if there was a fire. She told them if there was she was going to run back up the 10 flights to bring mom down somehow. The fireman said, "if there IS a fire, WE will go rescue your mom!" They wouldn't let anyone back in the building. It all turned out ok, the construction crew on the second floor had accidently set it off and soon the all clear was given. While we were waiting up there on the balcony I took a few pictures. See that cross, that is our boardwalk going to the beach. IF you look at the railings, my feet can be seen as I was leaning over to take the picture. There are 3 dots on the right side of the cross.
Those 3 little dots were Beth, Faith and Berlica waiting to get back into the building. Below the camera is zoomed in as far as possible.
The weather was warming up nicely so Diane, Beth and I made our way out onto the beach. Spark and Rhonda joined us and since Spark had caught a lot of fish told us they would bring fish for supper tonight. I left to pick up some ingredients for the dessert tonight. Rachel said she would bring the vegetables, Joan was bringing the potatoes and I mixed up a salad. Dinner was at 5:30 pm.
Dessert was served with decaf coffee.
We had finished dinner when we realized the sun was going down so stepped out on the balcony to watch the sun set.
Spark, Rhonda, Rachel, Janet and Floyd all went to Rebekah's condo to check it out then came here to visit. We played games then headed up to the roof top to use the hot tub up there. We stayed up WAY too late.
