It was only 56 degrees this morning, what a welcome change. As it was cool I went ahead and mixed up 2 gallons of milk for the orphan and ran it up to him. We left early for church. Mom and Spark and Rhonda were serving lunch but they had plenty of help. Mom was sure she should be doing something but today we let her take it easy. Craig Stickling had the morning Father's day message and Tim Roecker had the afternoon message. After church the 8 pounds of hamburger were made into burgers, seasoned and put back in the fridge, the icing for the cake was made, the watermelon cut up, the beans set to soak in chicken stock, the onions and mushrooms sliced. Mark started grilling around 4:00 pm and by 4:30 everything was ready. Tonight we were missing David and Steph's family as they are on vacation and Nolan and Sarah's family as their dog Ivy was busy delivering puppies. The farmer arrived and raked the hay.

Father's Day 2022
Nice big windrows of fine stemmed beautiful looking hay. It will be baled tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Mark had to move the burn pile out of the way for the baler. Dinner went well then we all headed over to the playground. After the volleyball games we were visiting under the trees and kept hearing a mama bird screeching. Sure enough her fledgling had fallen out of the nest. Rebekah picked it up and put it back in the tree.
Rizzy could hardly stand that she wasn't able to climb the tree to get the baby bird.
Below is a short video of after the meal, the playground, volley ball and swimming
Below are a few pictures.
If you would like to see the rest of the pictures from this afternoon click HERE. Once everyone left I came in to make the milk for the orphan then loaded up the 2 gallons in the car. Right about then I heard Valiant smash a board. Madiera is now in season big time and he was just too anxious. She was taken out and covered then she and her filly taken to the far paddock so she wouldn't tempt Valiant to break anymore boards. The colt was finally fed and I'm back in the house now. Another amazing Sunday. Sunday's are Special.
