No End in Sight

Another gray rainy day and more mud. Mark brought in a couple loads of wood this morning and we kept the wood burner going to keep the house warm. I headed up to feed the cat and snapped the picture below of the cart.

The meter was checked and it has a full charge so it was unplugged. Next Irish's udder was checked and she was more bagged up.  She was moved into the field for the day and only then did I head to the dumpster for the walk. We all quit the walk early.  Ruth couldn't come this morning as Fedi had a procedure done on his hip. We haven't heard the results yet but hopefully the infection is clearing up or gone.  Karin sent the grocery list for the week and this time she wanted a rotisserie chicken so I went to Sam's club first but they were out. I was annoyed at Sam's Club, not because they were out of chicken, Karin asked for coffee and the price was up another $2.00. There is no end in sight.  Coffee prices have been so stable for the last 10 years around $8.00 for 3 pounds and now each week they are up another $1.00 or MORE! Today it was almost $12.00 for 2 pounds 11 ounces.  Not only did they raise the price they shrunk the container the robbers. Next I drove to the Aldi on University for most of the other stuff on her list and finally to Costco where they had plenty of chickens.  They also had cake so that too was purchased for our meal tonight.  When I got home home the water tank in the indoor was dumped and given a good scrub then filled about a quarter.  Irish was brought inside. She will have to spend the nights in the indoor as every paddock is now muddy.  The pond overflow is shooting out like a fountain. Everything is soaked, the grass is coming up nice. Irish was wandering around checking everything out.
I liked the picture below as it shows how thick her mane is. It is double sided thick and long.
Hopefully her leg feather will dry out and I can get some of the mud off before she delivers.
She loves to be groomed, check out the shedding hair on the ground.
Tonight was my turn to make supper at mom's house. I sliced up the chicken we bought yesterday, made stuffing with sausage, bread crumbs, herbs, celery and onions, opened a can of cranberry, made a salad and took it over.  They were all watching Aladdin.
Dinner was good and that cake from Costco was the perfect ending.
Mom was really tired tonight. She had a big day today, getting lots of practice with her new scooter. She was chasing Beth around the house.
