Rosalie's Filly Sold

On the walk this morning we had to stop at the barn and admire Soul's brand new big filly. She really is quite large and filled out for coming 5 days early. After the walk, the sun was shining nicely so she and Soul were taken outside for a few pictures for the website.

It was still pretty chili outside so they weren't left out very long. A little later the other mares and foals were put in the big field. Irish's colt and Rosalie's filly spent quite a bit of time playing together today.

Lola is still not waxing and now is 3 days over due. She was watching the two foals play in the picture below.
Lily's filly was also watching them play.
She had fun today galloping around her mama.

They were left in the field while I got started on a big pot of soup. It has been cold and rain is predicted tonight and tomorrow and soup just sounded good. Once that was done and simmering on the stove I left for Kroger to pick up more chicken for Sunday's dinner of chicken stir fry as I used the chicken planned for that meal today in the soup. Mark followed me home, picked up the mail and there was a notice that I needed to sign for a letter at the post office. That turned out to be the deposit check for Rosalie's filly. She has now been marked sold. Her owner was sent the pictures of her taken today playing with Irish's colt. After supper Mark and I moved one of the camping trailers over to Joan's house so she can get it advertised for rent. We used the skid steer for that. The tractor made it back today, it was a simple clutch adjustment. We were very thankful it wasn't anything serious. After the skid steer was parked back in the barn the gates were shut and Soul and her filly were turned out in that for the night. Jury unexpectedly bagged up today and I want her in a foaling stall tonight. She is not waxing but it helps to have her use to going in the stall each evening until she delivers. Lola was brought into the other stall. Both are on the monitor but neither look ready to deliver. Irish and Lily were both teased today. Irish said yes and Lily said no. This evening Irish as covered by Valiant and stood very well. Finally I was done with the outside chores and it was time to head back inside. The soup was cool enough to package up, label and freeze, the dishes were done and the laundry machines changed. The last load is now in the washer. It was another good productive day and I am so very thankful.
