River Gracelynn

Our big news is grandbaby number 13 made her way into the world last night at 9:26 pm. She is 20 inches long and weighs a whopping 8 pounds and 12 ounces.
River will join her two sisters Zion and Eden tomorrow but for today River and her tired mom are resting at Methodist hospital.  We awoke to rain, a nice soft gentle rain that continued most of the morning. Soul and her filly were let out to graze with the other mares and foals when the rain had almost stopped and was just a soft drizzle.
A bit later Jury was also let out in the field.
Mark worked on mom's Kubota installing the new battery and putting on the new tire. When that was finished he drove it over here to power wash it then load it on his trailer. He will be taking it in for repair at the same place that fixed our tractor.  The mares were all out grazing when Mark started the power washer. The mares heard the noise and all came running into their paddock for safety. They weren't sure what that noise could be.
They like pretending to be scared, they really weren't.
Jury's udder was not as full today but as long as Lola has to be inside a stall so does Jury. Lola is much more comfortable inside. The stalls were cleaned up and made ready for tonight.  Karin and Magda came to work the stallions. They hadn't been worked in a while and both were excited to get out in and the round pen. Both put on quite a show for them. I got the vegetables all cut up for the chicken stir fry tomorrow then headed over to mom's house. This afternoon the sun came out so Karin, Jackie, Ruth, mom and I played games on mom's deck. We had a good afternoon with much laughter. After that was over Lily was brought in, teased and covered by Valiant. She stood perfectly.  Tomorrow Irish will need to be teased again but soon they should both be out of their foal heat. Lola seems to closer to labor, I didn't see any waxing but her behavior has changed a bit. She and Jury were brought in for the night and both given a good groom. Soul and her filly were left out with the other mares and foals. It is a nice evening, not suppose to get very cold and no rain is predicted. .
