Productive Saturday

We had a work day here at the farm to remove all the tree limbs from the building site. Mark got out early to start cutting up the branches.

Galena was put in the same field to graze.
There is so much good green grass in that field. The fence is down on one side but she stays close to Evan's paddock or the mare and foal pasture and hasn't ventured over to that side of the field. She was staying right near the fence watching the foals.

The foals were having fun running around the group. This picture was taken from the work site.
Mark got a lot done before the 9:00 am start time. We had a big group show up to work including Braelyn and Kensley.

Joan was driving the skid steer and below she is taking a log in the bucket and dragging another behind.

Ivan was using the small Kubota to also drag logs.

The 2 yearlings were put in the pond pasture. They came over to the fence and Emma didn't think they belonged there.

Emma thinks it is her job to bark at any mare near the fence.
Pax came with the girls and he was enjoying hunting.
The mares and foals made their way from the field into their paddock when they saw the golf cart coming. Rosalie was anxiously waiting at her bucket.
That golf cart brings their grain. Below are a few funny foal pictures.
Irish's colt had an itch and knew right what to do.
Below is Rosalie's filly with Irish's colt in the back ground
Below is Lily's filly scratching her itch on the other end.
Karin had 3 trail rides scheduled for today. The first group showed up at 9:00 am.
This group had Isaiah leading on Ripper followed by Sangria, Missy, Cookie, Oksana and Sally.
I was working so did not take many pictures of the first group. The second group out was Tara and Jay's girls for Jane's birthday.
Karin is in the lead riding Oksana, Myah is riding Sally, Renee is riding Sangria, Jane the birthday girl is riding Missy and Kate is riding Cookie. I took a lot of pictures on this ride as Rhonda and I took Kari and Brett's 3 boys down on the trails on the golf cart.
When we were coming up from this ride one of the girls on the first ride called to report she had lost her wallet on the trails. Isaiah and Magda jumped on Ripper and Sally to look and found the wallet. Below is Isaiah and Ripper after that ride.

The last group out today was 3 of the workers that came to help on the building site. The video below is of them doing the first creek crossing.

IF you would like to see the rest of the trail ride pictures click HERE.
The work was finished up after noon.

The entire job got done today. Mark was thrilled and so am I. We can now get the fabric laid down around the building site so the gravel can be brought in and spread. IF you would like to see the rest of the work pictures click HERE.  A roast was stuck in the crock pot for tomorrow's meal then I left for Kroger to buy the rest of the meal. David, Sarah and Taunya took the kids to Bicycle Safety Town. Three year old Zion has been practicing her bike riding and today she mastered it. Sarah posted the picture below of the kids up in the rafter:
They all had a very good time. I had Sangria in the pond pasture grazing after the trail rides this afternoon but she discovered Valiant and wouldn't leave him alone so had to be locked up again. At least she had about 4 hours on the grass. A wonderful update came from the lady that bought Jenis: hi Judy!   An update on Jenis (aka Valentina)
My goodness she is amazing.   I literally thank GOD for her every single day.
She had a wonderful winter with turn out  every single day but came
In  Every night to her 12x16 stall in a heated barn.   She had several  new blankets in various weights that she really enjoyed.  She gets 4 scoops of Purina senior four in the morning and four at night.  She gets great quality hay, beet pulp with apples and carrots at lunchtime, and a flake of alfalfa every evening which she enjoys immensely.   She has gained about 125 pounds, maybe more.
She is lightly worked by a trainer once a week and ridden four times a week.  She goes on little trail rides now that the weather has gotten better.   She has bonded with me so much.  She gets a monthly massage and several supplements to keep her healthy forever.      Needless to say, this little mare LOVES her life and we all love her.  I can’t believe how lucky I got with this little mare.
She is REALLY fancy  Judy.   Her gaits are incredible,
We will be showing her training level in May at Lamplight. She really seems like she likes to work but we keep it very simple due to her age.
I was wondering....   you said she had four foals.  Are any of them still on the farm?  Are any of your mates hers?  Are any of your other mares like her?    I have never met a horse like her.   I will be watching all of the babies drop this season.  I may just want one !
I will likely come to the Airbnb soon to see all of the babies !
I was thrilled to get this update and answered her right away.  Jenis actaully had 5 foals for us and we kept her first colt by Raven which is VALIANT. We had a very busy but productive Saturday.
