New To Us

Mom and Aunt Jinnie overslept and joined us for the second round of the walk. After the walk the 2 horse trailer used to deliver Jenis and Joshua was cleaned out then I went to CEFCU to withdraw money for the trip to Hannibal, MO. Mark was willing to go with me this morning and we left Meisters a little after 10:00 am and arrived at the home selling the motor home just after 1:00 pm.  This is a 2005 Forest River Sunseeker 2900 LTD. The trailer hitch this model is rated for 5000 pounds but isn't just used to pull a trailer. It also has a neat attachment that takes the place of the jacks. It hooks up to the trailer hitch and then holds the entire motorhome steady when parked.

The awning is 3 years old but we will need to do a little repair on the tie that helps guide it down as that is frayed.
The outside is in very good shape, no leaks and good condition for a 2005.
The other problem is the front door, the latch that holds the door open is broken.  Mark is sure he can get that fixed with no problem. The door shuts and stays shut fine.  The roof is in great shape as were all the windows.

The inside was immaculate, it was owned by a retired couple who used it for years just to go to their vacation home each year. The motor home was hardly driven having just over 18000 miles on it. The people that bought it from the original owners put the last 2000 miles on it before needing to sell.  They really wanted to keep this motorhome but both of them lost their jobs in Hannibal and are making plans to move to Florida. By selling they now have the cash to move. The dinette folds down to make a bed and the seats have seat belts for traveling.
The door has 2 screen doors, the first is the factory installed one all motorhomes have and the second is this one that has magnets to close as soon as someone comes in. This will be very handy around a farm.
The back bedroom has a queen size walk around bed with a nice amount of cupboard space. The window coverings are all in great shape and the blinds are the heavy duty pull down.  No strings to break.
Looking from the bathroom toward the front shows the jack knife sofa that holds 3 seat belts and makes a nice big comfortable bed.  The dinette sleeps 2 children or a nice big adult, and the sleeping area above the cab is queen size and that also has it own light.
Looking from the front to the back bedroom shoes the jack knife sofa, the dinette the galley which includes a sink, microwave and stove top.
The fridge is a 2 way automatic and has a huge freezer.
Above the dinette is a television and dvd player.
The bathroom is split with the commode and sink on one side of the aisle and the built in shower on the other side.

There are privacy curtains on both sides of this area, one from the bathroom to the bedroom and the other from the bathroom to the living area.  This is the quality and design we were looking for, so this is the motorhome we will be keeping. We will use it for our families but also are thinking of renting it out on RV Share (the same website we use to rent the Wolf Pup). Tomorrow I will need to take it in to Peoria to have the propane filled then will head to the dmv to get it licensed.  I was amazed at how easy this drove. The cruise control worked wonderful even going up and down the hills of Missouri. This really does drive like a van.  While I was gone today Anna cleaned the apartment to get ready for the next airbnb guest who will be arriving tomorrow and also helped walk Ben through the instructions for our other motorhome. His family will be going camping this weekend. When I arrived home mom and Aunt Jinnie came driving over to see the motor home exactly the time Joan arrived with all of her kids. She had borrowed the horse trailer to move risers for the co-op choir and was just bringing it back. They all wanted to go over everything and all of us agreed this new to us motor home is a keeper!
