Special Sunday

I went over to the barn after a couple cups of coffee to bring home the dishes from last night.  The cookie tray was missing and I was pretty sure who ever had cleaned up must have thrown it away so I went dumpster diving.

The first look I thought I was out of luck and started driving away until I thought to move the tarp and THERE it was. It wasn't even very hard to grab. It was put on the golf cart and taken home then given a good wash and dry.
Only after that was put away did Mark get breakfast.
He asked for the peppers left from last night and ate those with blue cheese dressing. The eggs were mixed with some Colby cheese and the sausage is from the pig we butchered.
Today was a special day. The entire Sceggel family went to church at Summit as our grandson Jack was going to be baptized.
This church service didn't start until 11:00 am. Jack gave his testimony before the baptism.
The video was started a few minutes after Jack started talking but most of his testimony is in the video below.
We got home after 1:00 pm and only then realized, "hey, we missed lunch!"  There was left over spaghetti noodles and some alfredo sauce left at the barn so we picked that up and had some for our lunch. Then it was time to start cutting up peppers and the porterhouse steak for dinner of steak fajitas tonight.
The steak was removed from the bone but there was still quite a bit of meat on the bones so I asked Mark to grill those too then took the bones over to mom's for mom, Karin and Nancy. Spark and Rhonda were also there. We were all chewing away on a big bone when mom puts hers down and asked, "What happened to the meat?"  We all burst out laughing. The dinner went over well. Zeke came in with his sun glasses.
After supper we all loaded up the two golf carts to go summer sledding in the field. Below Stephanie is asking her niece if she wants to go.
She chose to go and did not regret her decision.
We needed a second driver so I called Joan to ask if Berlica and Aubry could come out to play. Jasper was also taught to drive. Our drivers were Taegan, Israel, Jasper, Berlica and Aubry. The video below is quite long but they all wanted turns.
David and Stephanie's family had to leave first so we put the sleds away and went to the playground.  Mike came over to help tease Ken's Arabian mare, she is just not showing and according to the dates should be showing. I'll have to see if Ken wants her to be sonagrammed to see where she is in her season.  The volley ball games were going strong. Matt and Anni left last night from Gulf Shores and drove all night. Anni was tired but Dexter was exhausted.
Mike and Diane made it home last night too and came over to watch the games and visit with Spark and Rhonda who were also watching the games.
It was my week for Nancy and she was having a lot of fun watching the games.
Rhoda and Lee took Nancy home. Mark and I stopped in to load the dishes and left overs onto the golf cart but I had to stop at the field before taking them in to get a couple pictures of the sunset.

We have been seeing flashes of light and listening to the rumble of distant thunder. It seems far off and may not come our way as the moon is shining.
