Making Memories

David sent the picture below pretty early. He caught a small bluegill and as he was reeling it in a big bass went after the bluegill.

This morning was a push to get as much done as possible before 8:00 am including making mom and my lunch, getting 2 loads of laundry done, and giving Mark a haircut.  At 8:00 I went to mom's and loaded the cooler, her blue wheelchair for swimming along with a big tube and towels for her then went inside. She wasn't quite ready to go but we were on our way by 8:45 am. Mom is on antibiotics so needs to stay out of the sun but it was pretty chilly in the shade so Ruth brought out a blanket to wrap her up snug as a bug in a rug. Fedi's dog enjoyed mom's attention but also kept an eye on Ruth.
The sailboat was used pretty much all day with everyone taking turns. This lake is perfect for beginners learning to sail. There is a steady breeze and the lake is much larger than it looks.
Berlica took Israel and Elisabet all the way across the lake to the water slide and the double decker dock. David walked around the lake to meet them over there. They were able to jump off the top of the deck then go down the water slide. When Joan, Faith and Berlica were sailing they found a canoe hidden in the rushes. They tried towing it back with the sail boat but that didn't work well. Joan and Faith took the canoe we found with the slash in it, put gorilla tape over the slash and brought back the other canoe.
The second canoe was holding water but was missing a seat.
Joan got out her power tools and got a seat off the leaking canoe and put that on the other. Then they went out searching for treasure in that canoe.
They came back with a huge amount of finds including a small kayak, lots of duck and goose decoy, and a bucket of golf balls along with an entire bag of trash.
Israel and Elisabet were thrilled when Taunya arrived with Addyson, Jack, Jace and Abe. They ran to their car as it was pulling up and excitedly showed them all around.
They took the kayak and canoe over to the water slide and double decker dock and spent hours jumping, sliding and then exploring the volcano island. Mike and Diane arrived with 4 horses. Below Missy has been unloaded while Sally waits for her turn.
Cookie and Dancer were in the back.
Anni and Matt arrived with Dexter, Dexter was sat down by us to play while they went sailing.
Rebekah and Brian arrived with their Jordan, Riley, Blair and Walter. Elisabet was glad to have a cousin to play with and soon the beach was crowded with kids.

Mike, Faith, Berlica and Israel took the horses around the lake.

When they got back Israel got off to play with his cousins but the other 3 took their horses into the lake.
By this time it was after 3:00 pm. I needed to take mom home then flip the 5th wheel as the new guest was coming in around 5:30 pm.
If you would like to see the pictures from today at Norris click HERE. A video was put together of some of the fun.
As soon as mom was taken home and the van unloaded I took the golf cart straight to the 5th wheel, grabbed the bedding and towels and took those down to the house. Mark helped unload the golf cart. I had 2 loads of laundry but both got done in time to take back to the 5th wheel before the guest arrived. While the machines were running the 5th wheel cleaned. Mark came with me to take the garbage to the dumpster so we stopped in at the barn to see how the new dehumidifier was working.
That is doing a great job keeping the place cool. We had leftovers for our supper. After a nice long shower I'm finally ready to crash and it isn't yet 9:00 pm. What a wonderful day while making wonderful memories.
