Our fridge definitely wasn't working, last night we thought it was not cooling as well but the freezer was working fine. The yeti cooler was packed with some of the perishables before going to bed but by morning we started looking on-line for a new fridge. I shared the fridge problem on the walk and Diane thought she knew what the problem was as the same thing happened to her fridge in Gulf Shores. She told us to turn it off for a couple hours then turn it back on. It was hard to get the fridge away from the wall enough to unplug it so Mark just turned off the breaker then left for work. I took the golf cart and a hoe out to the round pen and worked on that for a couple hours chopping weeds.
This is what happens when you don't use the round pen for 2 years. Now that I can move it was time to start catching up on work that was put off way to long. When my arms were too tired to keep chopping I went in and turned the fridge back on but it was obvious in a few minutes it just wasn't working. At that point if I was to save our food it all needed to be shuttled over to the fridge in the barn. I took 4 trips over even emptying the freezer. Just before heading back to the house a big dump truck pulled up then backed down Mike and Diane's hill drive to dump a load of clay.
Mike is building a parking lot down by his shop. Diane was in their driveway putting together a rocking chair.
When I got home the fridge and freezer were given a good cleaning just in case we could fix it. The website was worked on as I needed to add two new pages, one for Valerie
and one for Tessa
as we are keeping them. They are beautiful, friendly, should be easy to train, both will be tall and have mega hair. Valerie can be bred to Evan while Tessa can be bred to Valiant in 2 years.
When Mark got home we pulled the fridge away from the wall to check the fan. That was working. The next thing was to remove the back of the freezer to see if that fan was working.
We think we found the problem. Even though the fridge had been turned off for 2 and a half hours it was still iced up under the panel. We left the door open, called Anna to see if we could pick up the girls then drove to the Bartonville diner for dinner. We arrived there just before 5:00 pm and didn't have to wait at all.
The food arrived pretty quickly. Kensley ordered the chocolate chip pancake but it came without the whip cream. She started eating it when the owner of the diner came over with the can of cream and squirted it all over the remaining pancakes.
She was pretty thrilled. She even shared some with her sisters.
When we took the girls home, their mom had already left for the girls trip to Gulf Shores for a week. I'm glad they get to do that. When we arrived home Mark used the hair dryer to make sure all the ice was melted off the back of the freezer. We just plugged it back in and I think it is going to work. I put a few things back in the fridge but won't go get the rest until tomorrow.
Now to clean up the kitchen as I have really left a mess.
