A Mare For Valiant

On the walk today we stopped at the cabin to see the grill Diane put on the deck. The horses came up to see it too.

Rachel's landscaping job looked even better this morning.
Mark went out early to check the old golf cart, just to make sure it would actually run after the work we did last night.

I was pleased to see it run and drove it around the indoor arena. The left turn is still not working well, the frame is a little bent from when I hit the tree. Mark took it outside to try it out and just then a Bald Eagle flew over us. I tried to video it using the phone but it was hard to see the eagle through the phone so didn't do very well.

He flew into a tree in the field behind the barn. I followed and took a picture of him in the tree.
Just then it took off.
This time I just tried to take a picture of him in flight in the air.
I really wish I had the camera in hand for this, the phone just isn't very good at focusing quickly.
We ate a quick lunch then Mark drove the old golf cart while I drove the truck over to the wood pile where the aluminum trailer was. That was hooked up and the golf cart loaded then I drove to D & N autobody shop 4 miles from us on Hanna City Glasford Rd. The owner looked at the golf cart, found the problem and told us he thought he could straighten it out.
We unloaded the golf cart and took off for home. Diane called right after that to let me know Ken was on his way with his Arabian mare. We wanted to put her in the paddock next to Valiant's as that is the stallion Ken wants to use for the mare but that needed a bale. Mike brought the bale over from the cabin field as all of the horses in that field were brought over here and will stay here for a couple weeks while Mike and Diane are in Gulf Shores.
Ken arrived, his mare is a registered purebred black Arabian. Below she is meeting Valiant for the first time.
Valiant thought she was beautiful.  She is not in season but should be in soon. Ken, Mike and Diane did a lot of horse camping together for years.
After Ken left I went back to the wood splitting where Mackenson and Mark were still hard at work. The wood shed is almost full and they still have logs to split.
Below is a video of just some of the work that got done today. I was very thankful for Mackenson, he took my place on stacking the wood.
We left for church at 6:15 pm. Just before church started the sun was coming through the back balcony window that it lit up the area behind the pulpit as if there were flood lights on it.
Tim Roecker had the message on Samuel's call and Timothy.
After church quite a few went to Culvers for a late supper.
