Moving Bales

It was a cold 24 degrees this morning BUT the wind had died down. As I had been gone for the last two days I cooked Mark a nice breakfast. He had been fending for himself so he was happy.

The sun came out and made working outside bearable. The person buying Irish's colt asked if he could come to pick him up and arrived before 10:00 am. He was in the far paddock with Lily's filly and Maderia's colt. By the time I had him haltered and ready to come out the truck and trailer had arrived.
I was pleased with how quietly he stepped into the trailer for the ride to his new home. Dancer and the last 3 weanlings came up to watch Irish's colt getting loaded into the trailer and called for him as he was leaving.
It was still below freezing so instead of moving bales I went back inside to warm up. After lunch it had warmed up into the low 40's so I talked Mark into helping. We first needed to move a bale in for Valiant.
The next bale was needed at the cabin field. Mike had already brought a bale over before he left for Gulf Shores, It just needed to be put in once they had eaten more of their last bale.  I took the golf cart over to open the gate and keep the horses from coming out but they were grazing at the bottom of the field and just watched from there as the bale was put in the feeder.
When that was done I picked up all the net wrap to throw that away but stopped to take a picture of the sign Diane had done for the Cowboy Cabin so airbnb guests know where to turn.
On the way back I stopped to take a picture of our new propane tank for the barn.
It was needed today! We got the bill for the delivery and hook up and was pleased it was only $564.84 and included some propane. We sure didn't want that barn to freeze. We have ordered the propane to fill it and that should be here in 3 days. We also had a load of gravel delivered while we were in Gulf Shores.
That will be used to expand the driveway to go all the way around the barn.
Evan was watching the golf cart as I was driving home, just hoping the grain bucket was on it.
Mike put in a new bale for him before he left for Gulf Shores but with all the grass Evan has hardly touched it.
Mark needed to put a trickle charger on the tractor and the skid steer. This will help for starting them in the winter. He was rounding up extension cords for that job. I went back to the house. I stopped before going inside and took a picture of the mums.
These are flourishing in this cold weather unlike the other plants. I went in to finish the dishes and get ready for church which was held at the Fellowship hall tonight. Loretta's family put in the supper. That was exceptional. Gregg Rumbold had the message, he talked about how important a generational church was and even interviewed some of the children and some of us old folks.
It was good to be there. We are expecting some warmer weather, tonight it is only supposed to get to 31 but by Friday we will be back into the 60s.
