Fun Filled

Thank goodness for the time change I still woke up at 5:00 am even though it felt like 6:00 am. Coffee was most appreciated. It didn't take that long for the day to start brightening and by 6:30 am I was outside taking pictures of Lea and her filly Thalia for the website. Below they were still in the paddock.

The back gate was opened for them to go out to the field. They really enjoyed the grass. Below the sun is just starting to come up from behind the trees.
Thalia has such a thick long tail for a 6 month old filly. That is Evan in the back ground and he was just hoping they would come his way.
I went inside to build a page on the website for Basilea (Lea) then start a load of laundry and breakfast. Mark took a walk but made it back in plenty of time to eat breakfast and get ready for church. We gave Rhonda a ride to church as Spark went to the jail this morning. On the way to church I mentioned to Rhonda that I was looking for a Christmas tree as the Davidovic Christmas is Saturday at the barn. She mentioned she was giving away hers. What perfect timing. Rhonda also told me that Gail just mentioned Helping Hands has lots of ornaments. We walked into church and there was Gail. She is going tomorrow and will pick up exactly what the tree needs. How is that for the perfect solution quickly. Church was really awesome today. The singing was enthusiastic and the numbers were given out as soon as each song finished. The song leaders finally had to cut them off so church could start. Mike Kaisner had the morning message click HERE to watch that. David had the afternoon message click HERE to watch that. After church I started on the meal. Mark took the crock pots of chicken, steak, Spanish rice over to the new barn and also the cut up peppers and onions to grill on the grill. I brought the rest. The supper of steak or chicken fajitas were delicious.
We had all kinds of toppings to go on the fajitas including very hot jalapeño peppers Lee brought. Only a few of the very brave added those.  For dessert we had madeleines with Bavarian cream or chocolate mousse and strawberries.
The grandchildren enjoyed being together.

After supper the volley ball games started up in the gym but Rhonda showed up with 3 helpers all carrying parts of a Christmas tree.
We got busy putting it together.
We realized it needed more lights so I grabbed Mark's car and drove to the barn and pulled out a tub of lights from the horse fair decorations.  Soon we decided we needed more colored lights and I had 3 more strands at my house so ran and got those too. We had a problem at one point they all went dark even though it was plugged in. Spark looked at it told us what we did wrong and by the time we were done we thought it was perfect.  Below is our prograss.
Zeke was busy playing with one of the toys.
By the time we finished with the lights the volleyball games were finished and people came in to visit.
Braelyn showed us how the new spike net worked.
Matt and Anni stayed in the gym since Dexter was a little fussy, Matt was giving Anni rides on the rolling desk chair while she held Dexter.
It was fun filled evening and I'm thankful.
