Monday

It was hard to get up and going this morning. I went to the playground a little early just to make sure all was cleaned up after the big party yesterday.  The only thing still to be taken down was the big 40 balloon. That was put on the golf cart. When Diane and  Ruth arrived we rehashed the party and the weekend. When we got to the cabin Diane showed us Mike's new project.  The pipe from the well is leaking. Thankfully Mike has the yanmar here for that big job.

With the price of water it is important to get this fixed and back on well water. Our well was not good here and kept drying up so we signed up for city water when it first came available. Our water bill this month was $348.44 but goes much higher depending on how many horses we have here. Right now we only have 3 mares, 2 stallions, 1 yearling and 2 foals here drinking. We may need to dig up and hook up the well again.  It was my turn at mom's this morning but we had someone coming to pick up a trailer around 9:30 am so Ruth came to mom's at 9:25 am. They arrived right on time and were a little surprised at seeing 4 trailers all in a row.
I explained that both of our families like to camp and we have big families.  They were heading up to Michigan for a week. Below they are getting ready to pull away for their big trip.
As soon as they pulled away I went back to mom's to relieve Ruth. Mom and I had a quiet day. It was nice enough to eat our lunch out on the deck where we spent some time bird watching. Today the finches were abundant both the house finch and the gold finch.

When Karin arrived the big fat squirrel was helping himself to the seeds. Of course I had to chase him off but I'm sure as soon as I left he went right back to the feast.
Anna came to clean the apartment and reported the washer was not filling with water. It is 14 years old so Mark thinks we need to buy a new one but I was sure hoping to get a few more years out of it. I'm not sure if it is an easy fix. My next guest for the apartment comes in on the 14th.
I went shopping today first stopping at Dollar General to get a birthday card for Mark, he turned 73 years old today, then to Kroger to pick up a treat for the Berean workers tomorrow and dark chocolate for Mark. I used to think 70 was old but not anymore. When he got home from work he went out to mow the 50 foot strip going down to Lancaster and also did the perimeters of the fields. The guest staying in the 5th wheel for the next 4 days arrived this afternoon. This is his second time booking. So many that book that camper really enjoy the peacefulness of staying there and ask to come back.
Or it could be the gorgeous sunsets.
