Mother's Day

Last night we had a cold rain about all night with a big storm sometime during the night that knocked down the antenna at the barn.  It was still a cold rain coming down this morning. The indoor arena was cleaned up but the mares and foals were left inside. It was just too cold and the rain drenching. We picked up mom and left for church around 9:20 am. David Obergfel had the Sunday morning Mother's Day sermon. The young group served lunch then David Sceggel had the afternoon message. David's message was downloaded if you would like to hear it, it is posted below.

It is so funny that in Peoria we have two Tim's, two Mike's, two Davids, a Craig and a Gregg. After church Sarah and Nolan brought their girls out to ride Cookie. Ben and Taunya arrived first so Addyson came out to help while the boys sat on the golf cart and watched.

Below is a short video of Berlica leading Cookie with Zion and Eden riding.
Berlica, Roshelle and Rosa put Cookie away so we could go over to mom's by 4:30 pm. Mark picked up fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and fries, mom made a big salad and Joan brought a cheesy bean dip and chips. We had a delicious yet very easy Mother's day dinner.  The funny thing about this dinner were the 3 cakes and big plate of brownies. Sarah and Nolan brought a cake from Trefzgers bakery for Sarah's birthday,  Beth and Greg stopped by with a big plate of brownies and the other 2 cakes were for Mother's day. Since we didn't NEED THREE cakes we sent one with Matt and Anni to the Jozef and Tina's house as they were hosting the Davidovics.
Below we are waiting for the food to arrive.
Below Iris, Zion and Eden are playing with Miss Molly's hoops.
After supper two pairs of geese each with 5 goslings came up onto the yard and somehow got too close to each other. The goslings got mixed up and there was quite a geese squabble trying to get the right goslings with the right parents. I happened to catch the squabble. Below is one mother biting the other mother goose as she tries to get her goslings back.
There are 2 goslings in the picture below with the wrong parents.
the mother goose knows they are not hers and tries to herd them back to the other mother goose while the gander honks in distress.

It seems to be a losing battle, as she gets one back the others come and join in. The gander just honks not knowing what to do.
They finally get the 2 sets of goslings with the right mothers and take off for the lake.
After that we took the golf cart over to the barn and found fun puddles to drive through splashing everyone. Below is Iris standing next to the flower Iris waiting for the golf cart ride.
Phil came over after supper and put the antenna back up on the barn. The adults went for a long walk while the kids and I took fun rides on the golf cart. We really enjoyed the day.
