Our big news is Galena has found a home. She will be moving to Arkansas in June. The owner sounds like a perfect fit. She grew up with horses, she is from a rodeo family but also knows Galena will never win any races. She is happy for the, as she puts it, "eye candy in my pasture". Galena was a huge favorite each year at the IL Horse Fair. We had people come to our stalls just to see and love on her.
Hanna rode Galena in the Pirates of the Caribbean show and Nolan rode her in the Nightmare Before Christmas show.
During the Wizard of Oz Galena was the Horse of Many Colors.
She brought a crowd where ever we took her. I ran to the Peoria post office the morning to pick up the Berean mail then to Farmington, IL to drop off the laptop and John's house. This evening Joan and I went to mom's to play games and ended up visiting for a while. We had sprinkles this morning but the rain started up steady at 4:00 pm and was raining all evening so games were a good way to pass the time. The pictures below were of the mares in the pond pasture on Sunday morning. They were across the pond when a deer popped out. They took off running for home then whirled around and were staring at the deer across the pond. With Irish the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side of the fence.
Below Rosalie is following Lily who was making her way to the pond.
Below is Lily and her filly heading to the pond.
Rosalie and her filly caught up with Lily.
The picture below was sent to the filly's owner. She is such an elegant filly.
