A very busy Thursday

While on mom's deck before our walk, we watched the bald eagle soaring over and around the lake and it splashed into the water near Rachel's house this morning. Mom made it to the dumpster before needing to turn around. She really needs to get her heart back in rhythm. After the walk I worked on getting the information to Joan on the 2 new trailers that are to be posted on RV Share. At 10:00 am I loaded up Mayberry and Jewel's yearling filly and drove them to Middle Grove. I had to stop to get gas but drove to Farmington hoping it would be cheaper there. Here in Hanna City it is now $3.20 a gallon. Just a year ago we were buying gas for around $2.00 a gallon. The inflation in America seems to be unchecked. Everything cost more... gas, chicken, building supplies and food in general are all WAY up. Why lumber is up 280% . What a terrible time to be building a barn. When I reached Middle Grove the two fillies were let out first. They loved being able to graze and didn't move too far from the trailer.

I started walking to check out the drives and decided they were easily passable so walked back to the truck and trailer and was able to drive all the way up to the round pen. The fillies didn't follow but hopefully they will find the herd soon. The mares were up in that area and I called them all into the round pen, shut the gate, checked them all over then loaded Jewel and Hadassah.
Once those two were loaded the others were encouraged to leave the round pen. At home Rhoda and Sarah were here. Rhoda was giving the grand daughters rides on Cookie and had just finished as I was unloading Jewel and Hadassah. They were put in the breeding shed paddock until a new round bale could be put in the short shelter paddock where they were to go. Check out that baby bump on Hadassah in the picture below.
Jewel's baby bump is even bigger.
They settled right down eating and drinking.
By the time I got up to the barn Rhoda was busy trimming Cookie's hooves.
Zion and Eden were playing with the vaulting barrel while Iris was jumping off the mounting block.

The girls went to pick grass for the horses.
Phil and Jake arrived with the bucket truck to work on the antenna that got damaged in the storm.

Rhoda and Sarah helped me move 5 bales in. Two for the middle paddock, one in the short shelter, one in Valiant's paddock and one in the far paddock. Joan sent Mackenson and Faith over to mow.

Below she is teaching Reese how to run the mower.
Below Faith is filling the 4 wheeler with gas.
Spark and Mike were working on Mike and Diane's solar system. Spark had trenched while Mike filled in with the Yanmar.

We drove the golf cart to the playground when Berlica and Rosa came up from the lake with 6 turtles.
The girls all had to take turns holding them. IF you would like to see the rest of the pictures of their time here click HERE. When the girls left I joined Karin, Jackie and mom on her deck for a quick game of Mexican train. It was a fun game and the scores were all close at the end.
Mark got home and put Bryce to work with the small Kubota mowing behind the barn and finishing the pond pasture. Berlica and Rosa helped hook up the Wolf Pup to the skid steer so that could be hauled to Joan's house. Once that was parked, the FSX was moved next to it leaving the spot where the Kubota is in the picture below for the motor home.
I took the skid steer back to the barn, Berlica and Rosa helped get the Summerland trailer hooked up so it could be moved up near Valiant's paddock. That needs a good cleaning tomorrow. The door had been left open and dust got inside. All 3 campers will be posted on RV Share. It is almost 8:00 pm and I need to head out to move the mares off the field and into their paddock for the night.

  1. you could take the boys out to middle grove when you need to cover mares now that you have a round pen!
