Sunday Fun
What a wonderful day in the Peoria church. We so appreciate our willing ministers, our services, we get to hear the truth and we get to have fellowship with our wonderful church family. After church the kids all started showing up for the usual Sunday afternoon volleyball when Fede called. Rebekah's mare Cheyenne delivered while they were in church and the baby had constricted tendons and couldn't get up. Cheyenne would not let them by the foal to check him out. Tim Reinhard, Mike Honegger, the neighbor lady, Fede, Ruth and I all worked on this boy with Fede and Mike holding the mare while the rest of us applied splints to the colt's front legs but it was too little too late. The foal did not survive.
We had dinner then headed over to the playground.
The court had new sand added which needed to be leveled a bit. Rachel brought out the Kubota while Joan got out the rake. We are again praying for rain.
There were 18 players, 9 girls and 9 guys. To pick teams, they had all the guys on one side of the net figuring out 3 equal teams while the girls did the same on the other side of the net. Below the girls were having fun deciding who was the strongest player.
Once they were divided into 3 sets of 3 the weakest 3 girls joined the strongest 3 guys to make the teams as even as possible. It must have worked, they played for hours. While they were playing the next generation was also having a good time.
Once the volley ball players ran out of steam mom and Joan brought out carrot cake, a big happy birthday cooking and ice cream cones to celebrate Tim's birthday. As soon as Braelyn saw the empty volleyball court she took the ball and tried to play. That didn't last too long when she saw what grandma had.
Now the last picture was just too funny. This is Joan's grand daughter and for just pennies a day you to can help this child in need.
