Airiah Covered
After the walk we were standing around visiting a bit when we noticed Emma cleaning up the dropped mulberries. There are so many mulberry trees in the area and they leave such a mess, it is nice to see Emma eating them as fast as her nose can find them.
Now I know why I keep finding purple dog manure.
Steven arrived to give lessons and helped get Airiah covered. Right after that I needed to head in to Meister's to pay the first of the month bills along with Berean work. Today was copy day, that copy machine was on full blast from 10:00am until 4:20pm with just one short lunch break.
Karin hosted a birthday pony party with a gadzillion (that's how many she thought) little kids. She called to say luckily Steven stayed around and helped with it. He had Ella on the lunge line giving riding lessons to them while Karin had Ribbon out giving vaulting lessons at the same time. It was a 2 ring circus out there.
A quick trip to Aldi's was on the docket since I was already in Peoria and we needed groceries. Finally reached home after 5:00pm exhausted and get an invitation for dinner at Gil's with mom and Karin. That had to be turned down, Mark still wasn't home, he had a late estimate and I didn't think it fair for me to have a nice out to eat meal without him on a Friday night.
After dinner he got out the skid steer with the turbo saw attachment and started working on Raven's paddock.
We plan on post and railing that tomorrow and needed a clear shot to string. Mark cut while I hauled the branches to the burn pile.
The next job was to take the turbo saw off the skid steer and get the special adapted bucket with tines for clean out. Mark dumped the pile out of Raven's paddock across the fence into the pasture, then I used the skid steer to haul it to the manure pile. When Karin pulled up we were so ready to stop work, head in for a cool glass of water and visit.
Karin, Ruth and mom are going to meet Joan, Tim and family at the Peoria airport. Their plane gets in at 10:20pm. From there they will head home, go straight to bed because they need to be back on the road by 6:00am to get to Iowa for the graduation in time.
