Praying for Darcy
Rhoda got home from her trip to the Smokey Mountains around 4:00pm and after checking over Darcy gave us the bad news on what she believes is wrong with Darcy's leg. All signs lead to a torn ACL which is actually a death sentence for Darcy if so. We are taking her in to the clinic this morning and just praying that for once Rhoda is wrong.
Diane rode with us on the way to church yesterday and told us about the Saturday Middle Grove company. Ella pony was used for 8 year old children and didn't put a foot wrong. Sangria, Bunni, Sally, Mika and Paris were the other horses taken out on the trails. Yesterday Karin had a very busy youth group out for camping at Middle Grove. We will be anxious to hear how it went with the campers and counselors. Dan came to mom's after church for the usual volleyball and gave a wonderful report on the 3 AC camps held at the Old School Center. Yesterday was the last day of senior high boys camp. Dan and Susan are exhausted but so pleased. Each year the camps run better than the year before. We always think how can it possibly be improved on but this year each was almost perfect.
While we were visiting the kids were busy playing 4 on 4 volley ball and when 2 of the players had to leave it no one wanted to quit. They had some great 3 on 3 games.
After volley ball we took the golf cart over to Rachel's to show Onyx to Dan's daughter Sophia and Carrie their foster daughter.
His foal coat is faded but that boy is black underneath.
On the farm trip Mytross was begging for some attention.
We really have very friendly horses, they see people and come running right up for petting.
Mike and Diane came over for the evening bringing Ebby. Rhoda is so good with dogs, Ebby needed her toenails trimmed, Rhoda lays her on the cushion and asks her to lie still for this procedure and Ebby does!
Darcy sits quietly watching just waiting for her turn.
We started this post talking about Darcy and will end this post about her. She has been a part of family for only 7 years and yet we can hardly imagine life without her. We are reminded that every time a dog joins our family most likely we will outlive them but it is never easy! Praying Darcy has just a sprain that can heal.
