Ayanna & Killian
Karin arrived early for the scheduled vaulting clinic and brought Ayanna out to the arena for a video of her before I headed out to Middle Grove to drop off Ciera for the company coming today and tomorrow.
Hard to believe by looking at her she is only 2 years of age, she looks like a full grown mare. Diane followed me to Middle Grove to help load while Mike took off with the 4wheeler to find the horses. He came back with Indy & Killian haltered and Zalena following so closely we thought he was bringing 3 horses.
Indy loaded right up, Killian needed to be encouraged to get in the trailer but soon I was on my way back. The vaulting clinic was in full swing but I still managed to get help unloading. Crystal Baker was more than willing to lead Indy out of the trailer and into the paddock with Ayanna. Once the clinic was over Karin started Ayanna with round pen reasoning. I snapped a few pictures for her webpage.
A mother and daughter showed up to see Indy and of course had to see all of the rest. As we were walking back from the cabin field we ran into Sue Martin bringing a friend over to see the new fillies.
Once they all left, Karin took Indy out for her first session of round pen reasoning. We really like to start the horses with that, it teaches them to respect humans and to stay out of our space. Killian was the last to be worked with. That was a great opportunity to get some updated pictures of him for his webpage.
These were just a few of the pictures taken. Mark has been out working on the fence line, came in with the good news the clearing is just about done. We can start stringing the back of the pasture behind Raven's paddock. Eventually we want to fence in the entire 30 acres, then once the last cutting of hay is done for the year the horses here can be turned out to graze.
