Mytross

Mom noticed a redwing blackbird nest woven within the reeds on the dam. This was on the dam heading over to Rachel's house. On the dam heading over to Tim and Joan's house we see Tim mowing the dam by hand with his trusty machete. I was just a bit late to work, we moved Clair and her filly into the stall for the day. The filly has some diarrhea and needs to be watched that she doesn't become dehydrated. After work instead of heading down to TSC to buy fence posts, I headed back to the farm to haul Mytross to Middle Grove. We will wait for the fence posts, Jozsef came down with a terrible case of poison ivy from fencing in the stallion pasture. Poor guy, how can we ask him to finish the pasture behind Raven's paddock, that is also loaded with poison ivy. We never thought to warn him about washing up thoroughly once done. The horses heard the truck coming down the lane and came to see which horse was being dropped off. None of these horses had ever met Mytross. Mytross saw the herd coming and took off at a trot and soon disappeared. I didn't worry to much, horses are a herd animal and want to stay together. When she didn't come back right away it was time to start hiking to try to find her and she was no where to be found. Oh well she will soon find out it is lonely and come back. Hadassah and Lily pony are doing well out there. Ciera's halter was left on by accident but what was funny about that is I only noticed that when downloading the pictures. The halter will need to be removed next time. Larry has to come running up to pose. That boy loves getting his picture taken. Helen was pretty funny, she came up for some scratching, one side was clean the other side wet and muddy. She must have been laying down in the lake. She and Bunni were the only 2 wet, she must have followed Bunni into the lake. I wonder how much faith it must take for a blind baby to follow another horse into a lake? It didn't take long for the herd to spread out a bit and start grazing. Diane and Mike headed out to Middle Grove for the evening and reported Mytross is hanging out with Larry next to the herd. Today is our anniversary. Hard to believe we have been married for 35 years
