It was already warm this morning when we started on our walk. We stopped after one round and sat on mom's deck for a visit. Mom was enjoying the warmth of the morning. Diane and Joan were discussing the camping at Middle Grove for Labor Day weekend and mentioned the kayak paddle for the kayak out at Middle Grove disappeared. Joan let her know there was an extra Ruth brought here at mom's so they went down to the beach to find it.
Ruth left first so she could help Fedi. I wanted to be at Sam's club by 9:00 am but didn't make that timeline. Mike called Hoerr Vet clinic to make an appointment to have Curlin's caslick removed and also decided to take Candy to have her hoof checked. The appointment was at 10:45 am and when I realized I wouldn't make it back in time to help load asked Diane if she could help. She did help and went with Mike to the appointment. They had to wait a couple hours in the sun but while they were waiting Diane took that time to book a cruise in February. The appointment went well. By the time they got back Curlin was ready to be covered and Evan got the job done. Dr. Hoerr gave Mike a spray to help Candy toughen up her soles. I went over to the barn to bring back all the leftovers from Sunday's meal then into the house to bake a cake for tomorrow's Berean treat.
Mark was finishing up the wire fence in the mare pasture. It was so hot he needed to come in a few times to cool down. I went out to check his work but he had taken my golf cart up to the barn and I just didn't want to walk up the hill in the heat. Instead I stopped and took a couple pictures of the flowers on our patio.
The cake was iced before it was cool so it would make a glaze.
Mark went back out to finish then over to the dumpster to throw away the pieces of wire.
We just had some of those leftovers for our dinner tonight but added a half of avocado to each plate.
