Perfect for Grandchildren

Mom has been sleeping in her own bed for the last 3 nights. She is doing very well and is planning on traveling to Gulf Shores next week. Now that the beaches will be opened May 1st she can't wait to get down and try out her new boogie board..or maybe that was her new walker. After the walk I left for the Berean office. We didn't have much mail come in and were finished by 11:00 am. I stopped at Sam's club for dog food and a few other items and had just unloaded everything when Anna arrived with the girls. Anna went up to clean the apartment while Braelyn, Taegan and Kensley came with me to get Cookie saddled up. Today they took turns on Cookie and each one was able to canter her. We went on a trail ride with each one taking a turn on Cookie while the other two rode the golf cart.

Cookie really is a jewel of a pony. Perfect for grandchildren. When we got back we picked lots of grass and fed the mares and foals.  After coming in the house for a snack the girls went upstairs to earn a dollar by sweeping the floors.
The owners of Lisa sent pictures today of her brand new filly by Evan born April 19th.

The filly is perfect and Lisa is a very good mother for her first foal! Irish is starting to bag up and we are looking forward to our first Gypsian foal soon. She and Zalena are now pasture mates getting the big field. This afternoon Irish was up in the shelter while Zalena was still out grazing. I brought her inside the stall barn to grain her and check her udder. It is not full enough to be worried about her delivering tonight so she was put back outside with Zalena. Mark got most of the weed whacking done after supper. I was bragging to the walkers that we are keeping up with the yard work this year when Joan remarked, "it's only April." We had some slow growing weather with all that below freezing temperatures last week. This week everything is growing. Even the redbud tree is starting to flower.
