Another Booking

Early this morning Soul and Lola were taken out of the barn and put in the mare field for grazing. Lola's udder is very full but still no waxing.  The sun had just come up lighting those wonderful fields of green. We so appreciate SPRING.
This morning while on our walk Lukie Unsicker called to tell me that their barn and machine shed caught fire last night and burned, destroying their semi-trailer truck, tractors and farm implements with an estimated cost of at least $1 million at the Plank Road farm where Chip and Susan live. Please pray for Wayne and Lukie. This is a terrible time to lose their equipment. Not that there is ever a good time to lose everything in a fire. Planting actually started yesterday and they have fields and fields to plant. Below is a picture Tim Funk shared.
Karin arrived this morning to work horses and started with Ayanna, then worked Galena and finished the training with Hadassah. Below are a few pictures of the morning.
As soon as she finished with Galena she was taken over to Valiant and teased. She is still in so covered by him.  Ayanna is also still in but was covered yesterday. At 11:00 Julie brought Livie and Emma over to ride the Walkers. Karin wanted to ride Sally today as she was a handful for Ariya yesterday.  Livie rode Missy and Emma rode Cookie.

If interested in seeing the rest of the trail ride pictures click HERE. My next job was to start moving bales. Ribbon's old paddock needed a new bale and the 2 old bales in there taken out and dumped at the tree line at the bottom of the hill. The Middle paddock needed the second bale. Once those were in Soul and Lola were moved into that paddock and locked off the field as there is rain coming in this evening.  Indy and Oksana were turned into the pond pasture so Oksana could be teased. Oksana is now in her foal heat. Evan will be used on Ayanna tomorrow so hopefully she will still be in on Thursday. I took the camera out to get some updated pictures of Oksana's colt as he is now a week old.
The two colts are now playing with each other. The silver is Oksana's and the black is Indy's.
Indy's colt took off at a gallop, the rest just follow along.
They are both really nice colts, both will be tall and both will have the mega hair everyone wants in a Friesian stallion. If interested in seeing the rest of the pictures of the colts click HERE. They are quite independent which drives their dam's crazy. Indy's colt is quick to take off at a run and when Indy follows Oksana thinks she has to also.
The storm moved in about 5:45 pm and knocked out electricity to everyone out here. Mark turned the generator on for us but mom must have electricity for her lift chair. She needs that to sleep. Ruth just sent a text out for 9 volt batteries and Joan responded that she has some. That worked and mom's lift chair now is either battery powered or plugged in.
Our day was 80 degrees and sunny until the storm moved in and dropped our temperature to 51 degrees. By morning it will be in the 30's with a stiff wind and a high in the 40's pretty much all next week. I had a booking come in for the apartment for this Saturday and Sunday. This is a family from East Peoria but they want to do something special for Easter and by coming here to the farm will have an Easter egg hunt in the indoor arena and want to hike the trails. We are isolated enough that I told them YES they could come.
UPDATE the electricity came back on by 8:40 pm.
