Lola's Filly Sold Indy's Colt Sold

The deposit for Lola's filly came last night while we were sleeping in our cold house. The electricity stayed off until after midnight and the house had dropped down below 60 degrees while the furnace is off.  What a COLD morning, 32 degrees with a stiff wind gusting over 30 mph outside this morning.  The filly was marked sold on the website before leaving for the walk.  Mom didn't walk, she didn't want to get blown around. Joan told us about seeing an owl close up and how Sean's dad Daryl Christenson went to check his wood duck nesting box, opened it up and was shocked to see this owl surrounded by mice. Daryl and his wife live in the country and they were setting traps and catching mice. Each day they would throw their catch out in the yard and each day the dead mouse disappeared. They didn't know what was taking them until Daryl took the picture below:
The female was sitting on eggs and the male was providing dinner by doing the drive through instead of hunting.  When both owls were out of the next Daryl took a the second picture of their eggs and only 1 mouse left.
I left right after the walk for the Berean office. Robin and I got all the studies processed and the Bible requests filled.  I'm very thankful Roanoke church is taking all the studies to grade this week. Each week I'm amazed at how we have been able to keep up with the grading of these studies and all by volunteers.
While working there Joel from Iowa called to tell me the deposit check for Indy's colt is in the mail and on it's way to us. He is naming this colt Otto.

I thought it was cold here but where Joel lives in Colorado it was 19 degrees and snowing.
Lola and her filly were left in the indoor arena while I was gone. It was just so windy and cold and still a little wet from the rain storms last night. They were turned out into the field until after supper.  The arena and stalls were cleaned up and made ready for tonight. As Phil was coming this evening to take Pax home he was given a bath quick before Phil arrived. We can't send a stinky dog home. I think Philip is going to bring him back tomorrow morning while he is at work so Pax doesn't have to stay home all by himself during the day.
This evening Mark and I worked on taking the broken manure stall forks off of the sticks and replacing the broken ones with the good heads.  After working for a couple hours we now understand why people throw them away and buy new. This wasn't an easy job but we have 5 working manure forks now. We can never have enough on this farm, those horses produce a LOT of manure.
Posted a while ago on Facebook Gulfside Townhomes #4 page was the video below. I forgot to share it then but was checking out the huge waves posted on that page when I scrolled down and had to watch the dolphins again. The jet ski was taken out in the Gulf and not that far when the dolphins came to play. Check this video out, it is really cool.
