From Winter to Spring

Spring showed up today, sunshine and in the 50's. What a welcome change.  Karin and the girls arrived as I was cleaning up Oksana's colt. Karin brought Ayanna in to saddle up here while the Shaeya, Ariya, Wren and Tekoa rode Sally, Sangria, Cookie and Missy over from the cabin field.
 Ayanna was loaded first.
The next three in this order were Cookie, Sangria and Sally.
All of the horses were moved forward and Missy was squeezed in last. It sure is a good thing these horses like each other. We have removed 2 of the 3 dividers in this trailer to make room for an extra horse.
Below the horses are all loaded and the girls are shutting the doors of the trailer.
The ramp is last. This really is a nice trailer.
 They are driving off below.
Oksana and her colt were cleaned up and then taken out to the field to graze just to keep them clean. We had a lot of cold rain then snow off and on and every paddock is muddy.

They were put in stalls and the colt given a tying lesson and his hooves all picked up. He also had his halter put on and off about 10 times. His owners arrived around 11:00 am and really fell in love with him. Of course they had to see his sire Evan also. Evan did a few tricks for them then took off running and bucking. He really is an impressive stallion. I didn't have the camera with me so no pictures of that.  When the trail riders arrived back they were happy and excited exclaiming, "we almost lost our lives"!  Danger makes everything exciting. I'll have to hear the whole story from Karin tomorrow. I was too busy moving Evan from the indoor arena back to his paddock.
Shaeya sent back the pictures below of the trail ride.

When they got back they rode the horses back to the cabin field.
This evening Ruth, Mark and I went to the opera to watch Phantom of the Opera.  Ruth came dressed to the nines for this performance with a fancy bow in her hair and high heels on.

We all had really good seats and they were FREE.  The Opera was playing on Youtube free for 48 hours so Ruth played it on Fedi's big monitor for us.

It wasn't quite like being there in person but still a fun way to spend the evening together.  Now I have just a bit more work to do before heading to bed.
