The Morning After
All was well at the farm. The office was a balmy 50 degrees so much better than the 2 degrees outside. Mark wanted it checked to make sure both doors were shut and the heat still on. Both Valiant and Evan were inside the bale feeder but once chased out were not thirsty which means they have figured out how to get in and out. The section they keep climbing over is an old bent up section we were going to throw out. Perhaps it should be thrown out anyway since it is not doing the job intended.
Diane and Ebby are pictured above. Ebby loves the snow and was having the best time playing with Xena, jumping in and out of her paddock. Xena would come at a run, Ebby would jump out, Xena would trot up to the shelter and Ebby would jump back in. Her little face was snow covered from jumping through the drifts. Neither Sandy or Izadora are showing signs of cycling. Probably time to give up trying until spring. One other time a man with 2 gypsy mares brought them over to breed to Raven in December. Dr. Hoerr tried a couple different things to get them to cycle but mother nature said NO. Both of those mares stayed the entire winter and finally started to cycle in March.
Mark needed the car, his truck wouldn't start this morning. Driving back to give it to him, the thought came that I hadn't seen Wynne. My conscience wouldn't allow me to keep going, so it was turn around at the water tower and back to the farm. Wynne was fine, she had just been down in the woods but came up when called.
