We found out this morning that it was Dan and Susan's son Levi that had everybody cracking up at the Christmas program yesterday. I was way in the back and couldn't see who it was but my first thought was that must be Levi, then after looking at the program and not seeing his name on it didn't know who it could be but was sure there were a couple of parents trying to crawl under the benches. Now we know why Dan and Susan had them leave his name off the program!
Steven arrived while we were on the walk, put the bale ring sections in for the yearlings, repaired the section that was down, and hooked up the trailer ready for the trip to take the fillies back.
Both girls loaded through the people door perfectly and stood quietly once loaded.
We want to train them to load in just about anything we put in front of them. There have been times in the past horses were needed to be unloaded or loaded into the side people door.
Autumn saw them leaving and came running up to the gate.
She wasn't too happy about losing them, running around the paddock.
She settled down quickly once the trailer pulled away. Steven drove the girls back, unloaded and moved in 2 more round bales for the middle paddock.
Mark left a message that Greg Reed would be coming tomorrow to work on the basement floor. That meant I had to put in a few hours of HEAVY labor hauling broken wood up the stairs and outside. I wasn't even done with that when he called back wanting me to drive a couple of sandwiches down to Meisters, then drive to Yeomans to pick up a furnace and drop off a thermostat. The Meister companies Christmas party is tomorrow afternoon which meant a stop at Sams to pick up food first. At Yeomans I actually LOCKED the truck, hey there was a LOT of expensive food in the cab.
Continued at 5:30pm Mark asked me to go with him to Pleasant Hill School for Darlene Carroll's retirement party. Mrs. Couden, Phil and Ben's 5th grade teacher was there and asked many questions about the boys, then Connie Falconer the superintendent from when Ben was in that school walked in took one look at me and said, "you haven't changed at all!" Obviously not the truth we haven't had kids at that school for close to 15 years. Ann Kleusner came up and asked about Rhoda, when she was told about Rhoda working for Dunlap Vet clinic, she exclaimed, "I KNEW it!" We even saw Bonnie, the secretary for Pleasant Hill from when our kids were there.
Bill Waibel's funeral is scheduled for Thursday at 10:00am at the church.
