Keep the Home Fires Burning

Yesterday it just didn't warm up. The good thing about being home was a blazing fire in the fire place and a gas heater on high in the playroom and good books. The afternoon was spent reading by the fire, talk about LAZY. The hardest effort came from having to keep throwing logs on the fire.
Mark came home for lunch then back to reading. Two books were finished both were from a winning book lot off ebay. The first title Deadline by Randy Alcorn and the second High Places by Stephen Bransford. Deadline actually took 4 days to read, it was thought provoking and had to take time to study the book. I had finished it on Sunday afternoon but had to take it back out on Monday just to review and study it again. The author had insights on life after death that I've never heard or thought of. He also told an entertaining story while getting his point across. If anyone wants it, I'm done and would like to pass it on. The second book dealt with a corrupt big ministry and also gave a lot of insights on fund raising both good and bad. This author also wrote about life before the flood when the sons of God took wives of the daughters of men and the awful offspring this produced.
Hoerr Vet clinic was called to order 2 shots to bring in Sandy and Izadora. The best part of that was Dr. Hoerr was going into Hanna City for something else and offered to drop the shots off. No going back out into the cold.
After dinner Rhoda brought Autumn out, took her into what we thought was the first time in the indoor arena where Autumn was perfect. It was only later after talking to Amy on the phone that we found out Laura has been riding her inside.
Rhoda worked on trot canter departs but it wasn't quite fair to the mare, she kept having to swerve around Billy the old goat and Go Go the younger goat. Both goats would stand right in the way each time. We just had to laugh.
This morning the thermometer is reading 10 degrees, better than the 2 degrees that was predicted but still bad. The internet wasn't working but between Mark and I trying to get back on line it ONLY took 45 minutes to finally connect. What a waste of time!
We will need to think about bringing back the herd soon if the weather doesn't warm up. The creek is not a slow meandering current but rushes enough to stay open for quite a while but will freeze if the temps stay low for more than a week.
