Breakfast was supposed to be taken over to mom's at 8:00 am. I was driving it over on the golf cart but had to slam on the breaks as Joan was heading to farmers market in Hanna City at the same time. The traffic on this road almost made me late. Ruth was sure I was late as the clock in the kitchen is 3 minutes fast. That was not fair, they were all sitting around the table waiting as a good joke on me. After a leisurely breakfast we loaded into Ruth's van, Mike's truck and mom's wheel chair van for a trip to Middle Grove before it got too hot. We drove straight to the lake for a pontoon ride.
We had packed a lunch so our cruise included a delicious meal.
Below Diane is passing out the tomatoes and lettuce for the sandwiches.
After our meal came the deluxe wash up, a bucket dipped into the lake for our hands.
It was a beautiful day for the cruise. We saw a herd of cows cooling off in the lake.
Once docked we got off the boat and back into the vans for the next part of the tour.
We drove up to see Camp Big Sky, this is their 20th year. Spark got them set up with solar as there is no electricity in this area.
From there we drove down to Mike and Diane's cabin.
The center piece on their picnic table looks like they found the skull of an alien.
From there we loaded back into the vans to drive to the winter pasture to see the horses. Mike brought the jeep as the horses were not in sight.
He took 2 trips up so each could have a turn.

They brought Aunt Jinnie an extra cup as hers was not as full as the others. As a joke we put ours in front of her and she had to taste each one.
We next got a tour of the ranch going through one of the cabins, visiting the animals, looking at the hatchery then feeding the fish.

We got home just in time to start dinner. Joan was cooking tonight. I needed to head home as I had guests that really wanted to see the horses. Below they are visiting the stallions.
I went back to the house but soon got a text from their mom that the girls had discovered Sheena got a twig going right through her eye lid. They sent these pictures.
I was able to pull it out and it did not bleed. I told them that Sheena belonged to my brother in law and that they lived just down the road so took the girls over to Mike and Diane's to show them but they were working on the cabin putting in stairs for the loft and we completely forgot. When I finally did tell Diane she replied, "Girls these days, never know what they are going to pierce next." We stopped at the barn for a few minutes to try out the ping pong table.
I took Valiant and the girls out to the outdoor arena so they could see him run and buck then had him bow, lay down, roll and sit up. They were impressed with how well he behaved. He really is a sweet stallion. They loved on him while he got to graze for about 20 minutes.
What a great day.
