Last REALLY Hot Day

My very first job today was to turn on the water and the water heater for the 5th wheel as guests were coming in today. I am SO glad I went inside. Someone had used the bathroom in there and didn't flush. That was cleaned well and deodorizer used to remove any smell. Thankfully it was only urine. From now on I will have to lock it when guests leave. The people staying in the apartment these last 4 days left early so as soon as the 5th wheel was done I went in there to start the laundry. Those people were construction workers, they came in late each night exhausted and hot so had the air conditioner set down to 68 degrees then during the night they got cold and instead of turning up the thermostat ended up using every blanket in the apartment and when they ran out of blankets, they used a table cloth.

The table cloth doesn't dry as fast as the sheets so that was hung over chairs. Every piece of bedding needed to be washed and I had the apartment and the house machines going all morning.
Today is supposed to be the last really hot day and hot it was.  Joan mentioned on the walk that the fridge in the trailer going out today was not cold this morning. She let the renters take out one with a slide so the renter was happy.  After the walk I worked a bit in the new barn straightening up and putting tools away as the Co-Op was coming today for a picnic and were going to use it for lunch.  Joan called Tri County to see if we could get it there this morning, they would look at it and hopefully get it fixed before next weekend. I left at 9:30 am to take that there and was home by 10:45 am.  All 4 trailers are going to be gone next weekend for Labor Day so we are hoping it is a quick easy fix. Anna came to clean and was disgusted by how messy the stove, fridge and the apartment was. There was so much burnt on food on the stove she worked on that for over half an hour and it still needs work. The fridge needed to be cleaned, the floor was a mess, the counter tops full of crumbs and table cloth had red spills that stained the cloth.  It was 6 men who were using the apartment and we can't understand why they don't clean up their messes.  Next time they want to book they will need to pay an extra cleaning fee. At 11:30 am I went to mom's but they weren't ready for lunch until 12:15 pm so I went back to work at the apartment until Diane called. This afternoon was a trip to Sam's Club for the food for Sunday's meal. The Wildcat 5th wheel booked at 5:00 pm. That sounds so easy except the air needed to be turned on and there was not enough time to cool it down before the guests arrived. It was 2 older people and they are just sleeping here and will leave in the morning so I offered to switch them to the apartment and that worked much better for them. The man had bad knees and would not have been able to get up the steps to the Wildcat.  As soon as they were settled I went back to turn off the air in that camper. Phil and Anna's family were here working on the barn so I stopped in. Anna found more treasures for the barn and was trying them out in different places.
Someone from the co-op picnic left their pet in the kitchen area.
Joan was called to see if we should let her go but Joan told us she would be right over to collect her as she wanted to show Bill and Bethany's children.
The sunset tonight was beautiful. So much gold in the sky.
We could hear the rumble of distant thunder but it did not come our way.
I'm thankful as we still have that one bale that needs to be moved. Tomorrow Mark has a plan for that, he and Mackenson will unload the wood from the flat bed trailer then load that bale on the trailer. Once it is moved to our place we will put it in the far shelter. Sure hope the weather man is right and this heat spell breaks tonight. Today could be our last really hot day until 2024.
