The rain turned to snow last night but we didn't have a lot on the ground. The ground was just too warm to have the snow stick. a chilly damp 33 degrees this morning for our walk. Mike took the horse trailer over to his place to put two new ties on. There is a chance he will come home with 2 black Thoroughbred mares and that meant he would need two places to tie. This trailer is almost always used to haul mares and foals and didn't have a second tie area.
He is hauling one of the tractor engines out to Indiana to drop off for repair on his way out to Ohio. He is going to use the yanmar to put the engine in the trailer.
After the walk I drove to Sam's club arriving there at 8:40 am. I needed to buy fruit for the Meister Christmas, steak for our Christmas dinner and if possible prime rib for our NewYearsEve party. All of that happened. The prime rib was marked down to just over $10.00 a pound. I couldn't make myself buy Ribeye at $14.00 a pound but found NewYork Strip steak for $10.00 a pound and will plan on marinating it. By the time I checked out I was $320.00 poorer but felt rich with getting at least somewhat of a bargain. Once home the 2 fruit bowls were put together.
The left over fruit was taken over to Joan's house as she was hosting the Young Group Christmas party this evening. Diane was at mom's for the second shift and sent a text asking if I had a sparkly black shirt for Karin's Christmas outfit. I took over a few options and Karin found the perfect shirt to go with her skirt. She used the left over material for her head.
We were teasing her about how elegant she looked. I had to place the crown on her for a picture.
For dinner tonight I made an omelet and split it with Mark. This was loaded with vegetables and cheese and served with a biscuit.
We needed to leave by 5:30 pm for Israel, Elisabet, Zion and Eden's Fall program. This was held at Bethany church.
Eden's class was first.
The video below was of first Eden's class, then Zion's class, followed by Elisabet's class and finally Israel's class. The school goes up through high school but I only took a video of the classes our grand children were in.
When we got home from the program the house was completely dark. There was no power through out the entire neighborhood. The lanterns were turned on while Mark went out to start the generator.
Mom has battery back up as does Joan. Joan sent the text with a video of a bunch of kids playing games, "OK so I'm pretty glad for battery back up right about now. The Young Group Christmas party was just getting started at my house when the lights went out upstairs but the party goes on downstairs.. Rhonda said she has lanterns and candles and battery Christmas lights going. Diane was busy wrapping Christmas gifts by candlelight. Phil and Anna also have battery back up. The power has been out for quite a while and no sign of it being turned back on any time soon.
Rebekah had TWO litters of puppies born. These are Bernadoodles She posted: We have two new litters of Bernedoodle puppies! The Seinfeld litter are from Suki and are Mini F1b and the Pastry litter is out of Minka and are standard F1. All 16 puppies are doing fantastic!
Check out their website if interested in one of these puppies by clicking HERE. Speaking of puppies Sarah and Nolan only have ONE puppy left from Willow's litter. He is a male puppy and is pictured below.
I KNOW this is a horse blog but we have no horses giving birth in the winter and most horse people love dogs too. Just so a horse person can be satisfied how about watching a horse give birth? This is Lily giving birth in 2014.
Lily is 20 years old and is expecting another gorgeous foal on her birthday May 4th, 2023. More than likely though she will have this expected foal early as she has always delivered early.
