Western Pleasure Lola
Rhoda showed up before 7:00am, joined us on the walk then watched Braelyn while I drove in to Meisters to run a couple of credit card applications for Mark.
Below is Braelyn with her pretty purple cast now off and her walking cast on.
She only has to wear this for 2 weeks.
Once work was done and I was back Lola was brought out to see how she would behave under saddle. Karin arrived as Rhoda was ready to mount and even Karin was impressed with this one. She is an amazing horse! We have never had one so well trained in Western Pleasure.
Her jog is so slow and smooth at one point Rhoda asked, "is she still trotting?"
She is at least 15.2 hands, stocky and has a beautiful black and white coat. Horsemeister is blessed to own this lovely mare. Braelyn was busy helping today at feeding time, opening gates.
The rest of the vaulters arrived, Ribbon was loaded and off they went for a vaulting competition in Iowa with Karin driving Joan's motor home and Crystal Baker driving my truck and trailer.
After lunch Rhoda pulled out Mindy for some riding and trick training. Mindy is such a smart willing pony. Mindy needed some work on her canter so Rhoda took her out to the newly mowed field.
She did so well out there she was asked to bow. Mindy is picking up the bow quickly.
She was then asked to walk up on the scary bridge.
Finally she was asked to step up on the pedestal. This was the hardest for her as she is only 12.2 hands but she did it and more than once.
While Rhoda was working with Mindy, Braelyn was playing with Emma in the arena.
It is amazing to me that Emma likes Braelyn, she has always been a bit scared of little kids.
We came in hot and tired. Philip arrived to take Braelyn home, he sat and visited for a bit, Braelyn went over to the rocking horse and was able to climb on all by herself.
Sarah called from Jamaica just a bit ago, her teaching is going well. She has 8 kids all at different levels. She is enjoying the challenge. She has one more week of teaching before heading back to the states. We got a small rain shower tonight. Some places in Peoria got over an inch but we only got just enough to dampen the dust.
